Manchester City vs Arsenal team news

City

Pep Guardiola's staff are monitoring several injury concerns ahead of the game with serious question marks over England pair Kyle Walker and John Stones.

Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson and Manuel Akanji all trained on Thursday following injuries.

Arsenal

Arsenal are waiting to discover if Gabi Martinelli will be fit after injuring his ankle during the 6-0 rout of Sheffied United at Bramall Lane on Monday, March 4.

England international Bukayo Saka withdrew from Gareth Southgate's camp prior to the clash with Brazil with Brazil defender Gabriel also withdrawing from international duty.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior are all competing for the left-back berth. The latter playing both Poland's play-off matches including extra time in Cardiff as the Poles won through to Euro 2024 on penalties.

Mikel Arteta has a selection conundrum and will have to decide whether to start Jorginho, Thomas Partey or Leandro Trossard in central midfield with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard if Martinelli is declared fit.

Form and Head to head (h2h)

City’s eight-game winning streak in this fixture ended when Arsenal beat them on penalties in the Community Shield last August, prior to also beating them 1-0 at the Emirates back in October thanks to Martinelli’s late winner in the league encounter.

Arsenal have not won at the Etihad since January 2015, when a Santi Cazorla- inspired Gunners side eased past Rovert Mancini's City side.

However, overall, Arsenal have won far more than they have lost against City.
