Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure? - Merged thread.
If you join the dots in all of this you can see how Arteta’s lack of experience is leading him to lean on players who have “experience”. He thinks he needs Luiz and Xhaka and Willian as they have decent CVs (barring Xhaka). The same goes for Ceballos and Odegaard as they are from Madrid and “must be...

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
My prediction is that we sell the saleable assets (Saka, Tierney, ESR and Martinelli) and buy a load of overpriced tripe. Nah, think they'll move out the big contract players first. Auba, Laca, Willian, Xhaka, Bellerin, Partey. Keep the young kids. Offer Luiz a player/ coach role, and Elneny a new ...

We have a winner!mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 7:21 pmThere are grumbles behind the scenes about Arteta’s man-management, with the suggestion being that his external communication to the media, to the executives is more impressive than the communication with some of his players. [@SamJDean]

Re: Bawbags v bawbaggies Sun 9th May KO 7pm(could be wrong but who really gives a fuck anymore)
It’s abundantly clear why the squad can’t be arsed. Put yourself in their shoes. Say you are Saka. Or you are one of the better pros. If you consistently watch shit like Xhaka making fuck ups. And you see the likes of Bellerin and Leno getting picked despite shit displays. It would make you think wh...

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure? - Merged thread.
What I don’t get is the basic disregard for principles of transfer strategy. We have gone from refusing to give Bergkamp longer than a 1 year deal once he was 30+ to signing up Willian for 3 years on £200k per week. We are signing crap on free transfers on huge wages (Kolasinac) and at the same time...

Re: Potential Takeover
Perhaps he should have distracted him because it obviously didn’t make a jot of difference to the shit show he served up.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 11:26 amDaniel Ek did not make his bid before yesterday because he did not want to distract Mikel Arteta and the team. [@SkySportsNews]

Re: Thomas Partey
This guy has come in and regressed to unprecedented levels in record time. The only way he will learn is to drop him and let him train with the U23s. If he thinks his level of performance is acceptable at any Club above Championship level then he needs to get on a flight back to Madrid, Arteta is le...

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure? - Merged thread.
People will point to the lack of squad quality but this is still a squad that should be top 6. He has contributed to the lack of balance in it with signings like Willian and Partey. Two of the worst signings in our history. Arteta is the tinker man. Much of the positive side of things has been good ...
