I suspect Wenger is relishing the chance to have a go at wining the Europa and this alone is justification in his mind to continue, Let's be fair the Europe League it's our level as we've been punching aboue our weight in the CL for the past 10 years.

When considering will he sign the two year extension it's important to not lose sight of the fact that he has a genuine believe that has what it takes to win the Premiership next season. With no one around him to dispute this I think it's safe to say the contract is a done deal already.
