Re: Happier at Highbury?

Older fans will never take to the Emirates and will always wish that we'd stayed at Highbury. Younger fans the opposite. Probably a fair point overall but I'm 21 and deep down I'll always wish we stayed there. Granted I was lucky enough to have a season ticket at Highbury for 9 of the best years of...

Re: The Alex Song Question

Should be a squad player, some time on the sidelines might teach him some discipline and think about how to improve his game rather than walking in regardless of form and being a liability. He has a lot of useful attributes but is a way off possessing the mental and tactical prowess to put them to f...

Re: Bergkamp to Swansea?

Might be a decent chance for him to test his mettle, could be a future candidate for the manager's job here although it should be on merit rather than legendary status (ask Liverpool fans). Interesting point about flying to away games though, very difficult to see how he could get round that as mana...

Re: McDowell's VANITY 'Rumours' Thread

They fcuking destroyed us in dortmund and even though it was them that got the late equaliser, it was clear to everybody that seen the game that a more accurate reflection on the game would have been a 3-1 or 4-1 victory for them They did in the first half, although we were so dreadful and disorgan...

Re: McDowell's VANITY 'Rumours' Thread

Dreading the media being filled with everybody pandering to Kagawa, with every glory-hunting prick under the sun exclaiming what a great player he is and how he's exactly what United need when the chances are very very few people have seen him play more than twice. Where were all Dortmund's fantasti...

Re: Barton

Every time he goes back to Liverpool and goes out he gets in trouble, the media can report the facts as a mugging as much as they want but at the end of the day he's a pissed-up thug with pages of form out on the street at half 5 in the morning, I'd be genuinely astonished if he played no part in it...

Re: Happier at Highbury?

only because the players we have now are no where good enough compared to the last few seasons at highbury, we all loved highbury and standing on the northbank compared to sitting in an overpriced seat in the northbank upper is not the same by a long shot but if we stayed at highbury we wouldnt get...

terry henry wrote:If we start winning again no one will moan about the stadium. Easier to have fond memories of highbury because we actually won stuff when we were there.
The point is that there appears to be a link between the stadium move and the fact we're not challenging for anything.

Re: Happier at Highbury?

Im not sure exactly how much more revenue the bowl generates but our wage bill is £50million higher then it was in 2004 http://abehnisch.com/arsenal-wage-bill-history/ We somehow have a 'wage structure' that prevents us from offering top dollar to attract world class players yet ensures that we spe...

Re: McDowell's VANITY 'Rumours' Thread

Would agree with that - would much rather sign hoillet than kalou but the smart money is on wenger signing another african :( :banghead: Who knows? As a general rule of thumb we definitely won't sign any players we're linked with unless they play for a relegation-bound team in a weak Europea...

Happier at Highbury?

Considering the way the stadium has been financed: fleecing the fans, ensuring consistent profits on player transfers despite the squad clearly needing strengthening and by committing ourselves to long-term commercial contracts that create a huge deficit with clubs like United and leave us fighting ...

Re: England (Liverpool?) Squad Euro 2012

Jones being able to "cover" CM or CB is a laugh. He is United's 3rd choice right-back and has never been a competent centre-mid, and Ferguson has learned his lesson about playing him at centre-half. He's no better at CB than Richards and he's hardly impressed even at RB in an England shirt...

Re: McDowell's VANITY 'Rumours' Thread

Interesting about Hoillett, thought he would be a good signing for a better PL team. I guess there's been too much disarray at Liverpool (plus them now looking at Sigurdsson) and we already have a plethora of wingers who are debatably good enough for a top club, but I'm surprised Spurs or perhaps Ne...
