According to ssn chavski fc are to work with wemberlee officials to identify those who didnt observe the minutes silence.......maybe this is a stupid question but what the f**k can they do even if they do identify them ? Many will believe that the behaviour of the chav fans in question was totally out of order but that is a moral issue so surely they cannot be punished if no offence was committed ? Is there any laws stating that minute's silence must be observed or else banning order's will be handed out ? Really and truly I despair at these type of bullshit pc investigations when everybody knows that the results are irrelevent and if somebody tried to put a banning order on me for that offence I would bring them to every law court in the land and sue them for distress when I win my ticket privelge's back

It was the biggest tragedy in English football, so I don't have a problem with us holding a minutes silence every year.

There's obviously all sorts of opinions flying around about scousers, who's to blame, Liverpool not playing on that date, Heysel, FA scheduling, Chelsea fans, Bradford, etc. but, all that aside, I think a moments remembrance for Hillsborough for all games in England that fall on that date isn't really too much to ask.... and no reason whatsoever why it shouldn't be respected.

Sid I agree 100% with you and it is yet another example of how everybody is bowing to the scousers like they are on the fixture issue. People can take issue with the chavs lack of respect (although I dont condone it I can personally understand it) but the issue shouldnt have arisen in the first place and the fa need to look at this situation again and see how pissed off fans from other clubs are over fixtures being re-jigged just to suit the victims. I know if the fa or AFC asked us to have a minutes silence to mark the aniversery of munich at a game in the grove where the mancs were not even playing then I would fid it hard to get on board with that idea

so if it goes to penalties a lot wont be able to get back

Forget about attaching blame g88ner cos that isnt what this is about.......I know more fans died that day but are you saying that the victims of bradford, ibrox, munich and even heysel are not worthy of a minutes silence then or why should the scousers be treated any differently ? How long should fixtures be scheduled around the scousers ? What will happen if other clubs decide that they too wish to mark a day for rememberance for some tradgedy ? Where and when will you draw the line ?

what i dont understand is why have all PL games (apart from Arsenal v Norwich) been switched from Saturday to Sunday??

I thought the reason was to avoid a clash with the cup final.
Now that the cup final is kicking off at 5.15pm why can't premier league games kick off at 3pm? (Arsenal included)
the championship games will have already finished so as far as I can see the big 3pm kick off match on 5th May will be MK Dons v Sheffield United

It's a strange one, I'll give it that.

I don't really have a problem with a minutes silence for Hillsborough, as it was English football's biggest tragedy and pausing for a minute in remembrance isn't an issue for me.

I wouldn't be opposed to a silence for Bradford either, if that's what was deemed appropriate. Heysel and Ibrox were a little more controversial as they weren't on English soil, and were more Scottish and Italian disasters, but again, I wouldn't be opposed to that either... even if I would consider it unnecessary.

So, the actually remembrance part is a non-issue for me.

But, when it comes to Liverpool refusing to play on a particular date, then it's a little daft... especially when it affects other clubs. There's no need for it, and the FA should tell them to play. They're being pandered to like a minority group, with everyone trying too hard not too offend to the point they can dictate the fixture list... and that should be stopped.

But whatever the issues are, once a minutes silence has been agreed, the fans should just swallow their views and respect it.

Can't fault your logic (and from a legal point of view, I couldn't agree more) but morally, what sort of human being would not behave during a moments remembrance for those who died in a tragedy?

It's despicable, and a flippant remark about it being someone's "right not to" observe a minutes silence does nothing but justify something that is actually quite disgusting.

After all, they don't have to pray or do anything other than shut the fuck up for 60 seconds! - what's so hard about that?

Answer is - not hard at all but maybe they dont want to or cant be arsed.
Maybe they came to watch a football match and sing and cheer and shout. Just because the majority deem it the right thing to do doesn't mean its right for everyone.

Blimey, this is "being a decent human being 101" and you're making out that purposely interrupting a moment of remembrance is perfectly ok.... where do you live? because I can honestly say, where I'm from, sabotaging a moment of remembrance that others are observing would be shameful!
