Arsenal will win NOTHING under Wenger. It doesn't matter who we sign because the man is devoid of any tactical or formational (not a word but you know what I mean) nous.
Wenger out!!!!!!

Sadly, I don't see Wenger going anywhere soon, so we just have to grin and bear it. Hopefully, we won't see him signing a new contract.

Personally, I respect the man and I hope that he is back to buying/selling players like he did pre-Invisibles. I understand that for a few years that he would have to take a punt on youngsters and to keep us in contention is admirable, but now he needs to pull his finger out and spend on proven talent and get rid of some of those said players.

If he goes out and gets M'Vila, Giroud and keeps RVP, I will feel confident that he is trying to end his time here with some silverware.

In fact if you're old enough you probably did see that team Lefty. Like the rest of us, it's the 'Invisibles' that you didn't catch sight of.

I can't see Wenger leaving before his contract is up.

Similar to previous comments I think that when we started thinking about the new stadium Wenger agreed to stay with the club to steer us through the years where we would have bugger all money. He'll probably retire or drop into international management after that.

With our new owner I do wonder if we will ever see any of the benefits promised to us from the stadium move.

me too. these early signings are unheard of in my 34 years as an Arsenal fan.

i think the criticism last year actually got to him.

what's encouraging for me is that we've actually signed two big strong forwards who are going to kick the shit out of Terry, Ferdinand, and various muppets from bolton, stoke and blackburn this year, rather than the lightweight aliadere, jeffers, vela, chamakh, park, etc who'd fall over if you said boo to em.

Spot on....can't wait to see Arsenal forwards giving it out rather than receiving it and folding

He's doing a good job so far this summer, I'm impressed. He seems to have changed his policy finally. Signing men rather than kids this time around. He still has to do a hell of a lot more to win back my long lost faith in him though, but he's on the right track atm. I'd love nothing more than to see us become successful and win trophies again under his management. I'd love to get fully behind him again, it's been so fucking long.

He's making me a happy man lately, is Wenger.

Actually signing proven players is a good sign and I hope he wins something before he leaves. I can see him retiring at the end of this contract though.

Yes, he's not as good as he was and if we replaced hm tommorow i'll be sad to see him go but it'll be for the best.

We'll always have happy memories of his glory days though, and, in 20 or 30 years time when we look back with rose tinted glasses, I'll miss the old guy

I think we should give him next season though to see how these newbies gel together.

Wenger: I could earn 10 times more if I left Arsenal but money is not my motivation.

The Gunners boss says his wage packet has never been the be-all and end-all during his career and reveals his disappointment over players which he has lost due to such matters.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made it known that money has never been a motivation during his coaching career.

The Frenchman has been at the north London club for 16 years, and won widespread acclaim for the attacking football the Gunners have played during his tenure.

However, he has now revealed that he had numerous opportunities to earn a more lucrative wage elsewhere, but resisted a move because he valued the work at Arsenal.

"I could move to clubs for more than 10 times [the amount of money] but I didn't do it," he told De Telegraaf. "[I've had] 16 years at Arsenal and I stay here because of my philosophy and vision.

"Money is not my motivation and that's also the way for [Johan] Cruyff at Ajax and [Wim] Jansen at Feyenoord."

It's been long overdue for him to go. I wonder whether we would have seen any title years under wenger if he had to put his own defence together when he arrived. Personally I think not. While he was able to introduce lesser known French players and make them work in midfield or up front, his idea of a defence is shit. He really is clueless about the art of defending and had he not inherited the back 5 plus Keown he wouldn't have been able to put together a title winning side. Just look at some of the utter shite over the years he has brought in. Time for a change.
