Arsenal's "British core"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Gibbs, Ramsey , Jenkinson, Wiltshire, Ramsey, Iwobi, Elneny, Coquelin and xaha all not title winning quality IMO
That doesn't really matter because we're not trying to win the title. Please try keep up

When you think about it he's actually assembled a whole raft of bang average players over his dynasty, way way more than the really decent players like the Henry's and Vieira's,I bet the percentage is easily 90% shit to 10% decent, maybe more when you think of the truly fucking horrendous drivel we've seen in an Arsenal shirt over the last 20 years, both English and foreign, for every Cesc we've had 5 bang average midfielders,I bet there's names we have completely forgotten about or chosen to forget, and that's not even mentioning the big money they've been on.I'd love to see a list of ALL the Wenger signings and see some of the names that disappeared into soccer obscurity instantly.Le Professor my left bollock :cussing: :cussing:

The days of Viera, Petit, and Pires are long gone....exactly he now has an incredibly poor collection of players in his squad, not only technically but mentally also....

Looks like he will also try and spend as much of Arsenals money to try and get success he cannot attain

All bodes poorly for any potential new manager coming in.....and the question would be can we get a top manager recruited?

His legacy to the Arsenal is to leave it as a ruin......thanks Arsene :barscarf:

There's only one Arsene Wenger :barscarf:

So much for the vaunted British Core, eh? :(

Jenkinson - Loaned out to West Ham and now Birmingham, and will run down his contract here.
Ramsey - Scores goals in FA Cup finals, but 'Messi Lite' is otherwise wasteful and frustrating.
Wilshere - Largely flopped when on loan to Bournemouth. A chav and an injury-prone liability.
Gibbs - Eventually went to West Brom for peanuts after rejecting other offers.
Chamberlain - Took less wages to go to Liverpool, after being fucked about for six years.

I think we can say that this turned out a fucking failure, just like Project Youth :censored:

I concur, they are all absolute shite
They are all West Hammy West Brommy Watfordy :D level type players..and the fact you've named Ramsey twice :barscarf: must mean you think he's doubly shite 8)

Have to say Red, you're about 15 players light in that list  .

Oh and Falkirk, can I just mention Ramsey again, because I think he's "trebly" shite !!!

Just how many failed projects has this stupid old man overseen ???

* Project youth might as well have been Musical Youth (Pass the Dutchie)

* British Core was about as effective as British Leyland

* Waiting for FFP = might as well wait for God

* Socialist wage policy = as effective as some unwashed git selling the Socialist Worker at Henley Regatta

What a useless twat Wenger is :banghead:

Solid metaphor work there Jumpers! 8)

I know Tippy Tappy has spread like syphilis over all of those projects but I think that was probably his worst project and deserves its own listing.

Project Tippy Tappy has all but ruined my love of watching football. :censored: :|

Oh Shit - Project Tika Taka (or tippy tappy to give it its proper name). I'd erased that pile of horse shite from my memory.

* Endless, pointless, sideways 5 yard passes until you end up right back where you started.

* 70% possession and lose 1-0.

* Alex Hleb disappearing up his own jacksy

* Denilson . . . . . :banghead:

That's the one! :barscarf: :suicide:

Tika Taka was the quite attractive fast aggressive passing and pressing game that the Whores excelled at under Bald Pep. Tippy Tappy is Wenger's navel-gazing, boring, slow, unadventurous, watered-down sideways version of that... :x :censored:

And then being unable to comprehend how the other team managed to beat us ( Wenker that is ) and putting it down as an an accident / illusionary dominance / jaded / lacking sharpness / handbrake / but trying it again and again and again ad infinitum :banghead:

Always baffled, and I mean absolutely mystified if one team had much more of the ball and lost.

I remember once he was looking at an analysis of Leicesters stats with about 5 games to go and he came across as stupified that this was happening, that they were going to win the league. I remember seeing a clip of it and thinking ...it's like everything he has believed in his entire life has just been torched. He just cannot accept that possession does not equate to victory. If he wants to know why, maybe he should look back at 3 or 4 years ago when 20 or 30 passes still wasn't enough, we had to walk the ball into the net.

No more of that hair tearing frustration for our fans these days, as we cannot retain the ball for 10 passes let alone 30.

British core?

More like rotten core.

Only Ramsey is left in the first team, Wilshere is bench at best and Walcott no one else wants, Gibbs, Ox and Jenks have all f*cked off after doing very little.

Another failed 'project' just like the Emirates 'project'.
