I can still recall the days when we only went hunting for "super quality". A week later Park, Santos, and the non jumping German arrived! Then we were saved from "dizzying prices" by Gervinho

Is exceptional an upgrade on super? If so, we can look forward to some glory days ahead
Gervinho. What a complete Wanker he was. Fuck me, we've had a lot of absolute disasters playing for us in the last 12 years. Him and Chamakh. Fucking hell.
Arsene FC clowns XI

Almunia

Eboue Djourou Silvestre Santos

Denilson Flamini Diaby

Chamakh Sanogo Gervinho

Oh and a bench full of clowns - Flapianski, Squillaci, Park Chu Yeung, Bendter, Walcott, Kallstrom

Yep. The perfect shitbag XI. I like how you've picked a front three to accommodate the absolute dogshit disgrace that was Chamakh, Sanogo and Gervinho. I feel they do all deserve a place in that team. I'd put Bischoff on the bench too.

Thanks, it was hardwork narrowing it down.. plenty more could be considered for selection, all of these were post Emirates I believe, taking it back further would result in an overload of clowns - Stepanovs, Malz, Caballero, Merida, Senderos, to name but a few, then you have the current set - Jenks (bless him ), Debuchy, Asano and a special mention for Walcott for the longest serving clown award.

Hard work narrowing it down indeed but I have to admit I am slightly disappointed that you found no place for my favourite Pascal Cygan..

Wenger the mad man has said that we have too many players and he will need to 'sell before he can buy' - Ohh! There's a feckin' surprise..

With the likes of walcott, gibbs, wilshere, ramsey et al all on mega super quality player level wages - how the feck can other clubs afford both a transfer fee and their outrageous wages...WBA offered £12 mill for Gibbs but mr 30 years turned them down...I mean WTF!?

The mad man needs sectioning.

Much as i like Ox no way is he worth that as a player who has yet to prove himself and consistently hold down a starting spot in the team.

Not only is this offer ludicrous but yet again it will tie in another player to a long term contract who if needs be will be impossible for another manager (yeah right) to offload if he were surplus to requirements at a later date, Wenger has absolutely no idea what he is doing anymore..... if he ever did :banghead: :banghead:

Not a popular view but I think Almunia was a better keeper than many give him credit for. Also very harsh on Flamini who was pretty decent in his way. Kallstrom was actually a good player but a totally bizarre signing.

Spot on with the rest though.

Spuds pen save that's all. Just as Bendtner will only ever be remembered for his header 20 secs after coming on!!

First leg CL semi against United in 2009 where we got mullered but somehow only lost 1-0. He made up for it in the return leg though by letting past a ronaldo free kick from 40 yards which went in halfway up the goal.

Jenkinson loaned out to Birmingham. Another success story.

Holding desperately needs to go on loan to play regular football at PL level. No point doing same as with jenkinson and chambers which is chucking him in the side which he is nowhere near ready for then waiting until he loses all confidence to then loan him out once it's too late.

The one that stands out was Utd away in the CL semi. But although he made mistakes in other games, so does every other player.

He also suffered from coming in at a time when Wenger was constantly changing the back four. This did not help him and wouldn't have helped any keeper.

Part of the reason for Seaman's - deserved - status is that he played behind the most settled defence we have ever had. And even he was error prone at the end.

People's view of Almunia is coloured by the fact that it was a fallow period for the team and the Club with the Manager chopping and changing at will.

But the faults went deeper than Almunia's errors. As I said, he was a better keeper than many give him credit for.

When he first joined Almunia looked a decent 'keeper. Lehmann was still a very good first choice and Almunia was your typical understudy 'keeper. The problem with him is that he never moved past that mentality.

I do think he was a victim of poor coaching a well. I don't have any confidence in Payton as a coach whatsoever and I think we were lucky Lehmann was experienced and took charge of his own style of play, rather than being left to Payton's cackhandedness.

He lacked experience and with every mistake he made he just got worse. I mean, it's no good having a goalkeeper who panics everytime the ball enters the same postcode as him.

And honestly, I would have preferred that we had Mart Poom, a more senior, experienced 'keeper, on the bench in Paris '06 than Almunia.

Unless you follow the club you have no idea how toxic this man is. This is another area where he has failed on a massive scale and ruined promising careers to boot.

He brings in these promising youngsters, has no idea what to do with them, .... then, too frightened to release them in case they succeed elsewhere, he sends them out on these never ending loan deals hoping someone else can turn them into stars, in which case he will suddenly demand them back. By the time that merry go round finally comes to an end, they are in their mid twenties, back at the club, under developed and unwanted by anyone, including Wenger. So they then become part of this over inflated squad that he has no idea how to streamline. It is absolutely scandalous what he gets away with. He talks about all the problems at the club in a vague, abstract way as though they have been unfairly placed on him and he is unfairly expected to sort them out. Yet, they are ALL of his own making...and what makes it worse he NEVER sorts any of it out. Whoever finally takes over is going to need a couple of years just to straighten out his mess.

Look at Joel Campbell...an impressive WC, everyone screaming......... get this guy back to the Emirates, came back....disappointing under Wenger

Look at AoC, Walcott, Chambers...they all came from down the South Coast. So did Llalana...spot the difference.
