The Scum (A) | PL | Sun 30 Apr 16:30

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Par for the course these days Herd, a far cry from 1980s when a stroll down from Seven Sisters could be described as interesting
Im more than aware of how it is i normally go with 4 or 5 old grizzlies and we never have a problem but this one was worse than usual. The Police there are totally clueless .
Perhaps I am being cynical or bad minded, but seeing as this was the last NLD at the toilet - Those responsible for policing/security at and outside the ground thought it would be okay to be Lax and allow their fans whom were most likely to be celebrating a win a last opportunity to vent their frustrations of the last 20 years with a free hand.

What I saw of Robbie on AFTV being racially abused etc was not good. Regardless of what people may think of AFTV - because he is now a 'known' face - Had the plod not been there he would have got stomped.

What is annoying is that when the scum to the bowl - they come and go with very little hassle. That needs to change.

As for kane's dive - Gabriel should have known he would go down at the hint of any contact - and the ref bought it lock, stock and everything else.

I think the club (scum club) have some explaining to do, whether anyone will call them on it is doubtful, you would think that Arsenal FC with all its clout etc would; if they cared about their fans that is, ask the sum to explain how and why it was allowed to happen.

Yeah I know..and pigs might fly.
Its been going on to a more or lesser extent for a number of years now, its a while since I've been over there so cannot comment personally, but the from what i've seen on YouTube the policing is a totally ineffective, hundreds and hundreds of coppers (certainly way more than back when I used to regularly attend this fixture) in all manner of riot gear, yet they just seem to stand there and let the scum walk right up to the escort screaming abuse etc. I suspect that in these days of everyone having a camera on their phone, they are terrified of lashing out at those that deserve it, you get the feeling that 2 or 3 "up for it" coppers of SPG vintage could have cleared this lot down the road in no time.

Be interesting to see what happens next year at Wembley, I wonder if we will get a bigger allocation which may change the dynamic of our support, and with them being at Wembley the dynamic of their support (i.e. more corporates)

There easy ways to get fans in an out of the swamp but the Police invite and encourage trouble with the way they Police the NLD .
You also are on a hiding to nothing because I've seen people set upon by the jackals who then got arrested as they fought to defend themselves .
Keeping the park lane open for them to walk down is a nonsense for starters and there is a crescent road (bromley rd ) you can use for funnelling away fans through without having to deal with the crossroads at WHL but the sad fact is that the local Police have always been useless and see football as low priority and don't give a shit !

These days you've got to be careful what you say on Forums or else you'll be nicked for inciting violence. Back in the day we knew that Dainton and his chaps would ensure that the scum had an uncomfortable time at Highbury. I never went looking for trouble but you knew that if it kicked off around you there'd be enough Gooners willing to stand together. Of course footie has moved on but it irritates me like fuck that we get a raw deal at their place and nowadays it's not like that at ours. Maybe our now retired Firm should come out of retirement now and again!!
Friday evening will be interesting in East London. They're always singing that they hate The Spuds more than us so let's see!!

Yes, puts it into context the April 1980 'petrol bomb' game would have made yesterday look like a walk in the park

True...

Seems to me they are allowed to incite violence like one of those "hold me back" heroes, stoking up trouble when most people just want to get to a game...
It resembles an Elephant Man type of crowd behaviour where they can provoke shout jeer and do what the fuck they like and still do not get knicked!...
Uncle William need to sort it out before it gets proper....

The thing is in those early 80's games you had to hit the corner pin swinging or you were doomed !
I remember getting escorts all the way back to finsbury park and then it going off again !
I was next to the petrol bomb thrower back in the day and know him well ,he was a kid then .
It might be true that today you have people who just hang around and put pressure on without ever really expecting a proper fight.

Back in the 80's it was police escorts to near every away game north and south, I remember walking over a footbridge in Luton from the game and they overturned a bottle bank which just happened to be there, take cover!

Good point, in strange way these scum muppets are protected by the police obviously they know how far they can go without getting nicked so an ample opportunity to big themselves up, I know this was also the case at their Millwall cup match, does this go on down there at all their home games (I'm guessing Chelsea and West Ham)? And does this go on anywhere else in the country?

Absolutely, In my humble opinion they are allowed to do this, mind you every now and then they do have a riot...
You saw with Milwall the threats and goadings handed out, geezer rocks up bang!.... :box:
Move on....

Having calmed down i had a look through our team from sunday and to be honest its bloody shocking

Cech.....past his sell by date

Gabriel...an absolute liability

Koscielny...a solid defender but one who i think is over rated and prone to awful errors/lack of positioning and concentration

Monreal...a trier but just not up to the level required

Oxlade chamberlain...talented and can work hard when it suits him but end product is mostly poor

Ramsey....his ego is far bigger than his talent and this has been fuelled by wenger

Xhaka.... i dont even know what he gives us..he is an 6-8 million player at best on this seasons form

Gibbs...injury prone and lacking in composure /talent

Ozil.....seems to think he is doing us a favour playing for us...one of the laziest least committed players i have ever seem in an Arsenal shirt

Sanchez...out of form and looks like his head is elsewhere already

Giroud...lazy frustrating twat who thinks he is 3 times the fucking player he is.

I cannot see one player from this line up whom i consider fit to wear the shirt (judging by their displays on sunday) whether it be through lack of effort or talent.
Signed trained and picked by possibly the highest paid manager in world football.
What a fucking shambles.

I avoided watching this game and intend to keep it that way but I cant disagree with any of your post.

I am sure none of us expected Wenger to keep the team at the level it was at its peak but to have regressed to what it is now is unforgivable.
