Re: Championship playoffs
I'd like Huddesfield to get promoted purely because it would be a new team and a new ground. Reading are one of those boring nothing teams like Hull or Norwich or Palace who come up, do fuck all and then go back down a few seasons later. I'd also agree that the play-offs are a fucking joke. It's a pure money-making scheme which can reward a team which finishes seventh and isn't anywhere near good enough to play in the league above. Promote two teams and have a two-legged home and away play-off with the third from bottom team from the league above. None of all this play at Wembley and get a trophy shit.

the worst thing about the FA Cup is that they moved the final from 3pm (and of course the SFs should not be anywhere near Wembley)
agreed

Huddersfield would be a novelty for a season but they'd soon join a long list of shit northern clubs that add nothing to the league. No better than Hull, Burnley, Boro, Wigan or Bolton Imo. Would have preferred Wednesday or Fulham.

Bradywasking wrote:Was taken to task for saying this last year but I am going to say it again..The playoffs system is morally corrupt. A league is a league and a Cup competition is a Cup competition. Reading and Huddersfield are going to a Wembley final with all the trappings of a Wembley final..new suits , trophy and medals and probably an open top bus parade.
So a club that slogs through 46 games in a season and finishes third can end up empty handed while a team than can finish 15 points behind them can have Wembley glory.
Last Sunday Tranmere played Forest Green at Wembley in a non league play off as a reward for finishing behind Lincoln..
Then people ask why the FA Cup is devalued. But the playoffs are a product of modern football, that is they are a product. Money spinning drama inducing creation of TV companies. It is almost like having an actual trophy for finishing fourth..
Arsene would be well suited to the lower divisions.
don't know about morally corrupt but I get where your coming from. in a purely amateur sporting sense they do not seem fair and of course the play-offs are a product of modern football. but this is the age we are living in and the efl clubs could not survive and pay the wages without providing this kind of entertainment for the t.v. companies/betting firms etc. who plough the money in.
Re: Championship playoffs
I disagree. Huddersfield have played some excellent football this season and seem to be a real unit full of shrewd buys. Reading have absolutely stunk up the league with their nonsense tactical approach. Don't need a season of Sky getting a stonk on about Jaap Stam neither.Leyton Gooner wrote:Huddersfield would be a novelty for a season but they'd soon join a long list of shit northern clubs that add nothing to the league. They also won as many titles in 3 seasons as Wenger has won in 21 seasons.
They were managed by a man called Herbert Chapman. He died at just 55 apparently but there are no records of what he did in the years between leaving Huddersfield in 1925 and his death in 1934.

What the fuck are you on about?
Football was created by Sky Sports in 1992/1993. About 3 years before Arsene Wenger founded Arsenal.

Re: Championship playoffs
Huddersfield the club who gave us Herbert Chapman The club who we won our first big honour against win against Reading and reach the land of milk and honey
On the weekend of our 13th Fa cup the team we win our first against reach the Premier League maybe a sign that le bulbeye is fucking off
It's probably not and I'm rambling shite as per usual I'm fluent in jockanese and shitespeak I'm glad they are up anyway.Reading haven't been worth a fuck when they've been up.
