My First Arsenal Team
Re: My First Arsenal Team
The socks were white with dark blue hoops I loved those kits but in those days you couldn't buy them with a cannon !
I was a very lucky boy as I had a seamstress aunty who got someone at her work to embroider the badge and I got it for my 13th birthday ,it looked fooking great !

A staple of the Cup Winners Cup. I always liked thatrobbo10 wrote:That formation must have been 5-2-3!!

Such a shame that they essentially merged it into the UEFA Cup/Europa League. Fucking group stages in European competitions are an abomination; it should be a two-leg knockout tie from the first round
I think so. I heard that Keown was used in midfield now and again back in the day. Early days for me of course. I was learning about football on my own with no guidance from family or many peers. Gunners Magazine, Shoot magazine and crap MotD highlights were all I had to go on. I was gutted that no-one could take me to games back in the 90s when it was still somewhat cheap to go to games.StuartL wrote:3 centre backs - Adams, Keown & Linegan, did Keown play in midfield that night ?
I still fucking love that 1994-96 lightning bolt kit though

Re: My First Arsenal Team
But I also remember Jon Sammels, Sammy Nelson, and Eddie Kelly who actually had the equaliser against Liverpool in 71 despite Honest George staking a claim to the goal, watch it again to see if it's conclusive
