Most FA cup wins / appearances.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Most FA cup wins / appearances.

Post by StuartL »

Does Pat Rice still hold the record (for us) of 5 final appearances ?
71,72,78,79 &80
Wasnt sure if Parlour (or anyone else matched it) 98,01,02,03,05

I know A Cole has 7 winners medals, 3 with us and 4 at Chelsea

Parlour left in 2004.

Bergkamp was injured for '98 final otherwise he would have had 5.

Parlour played in the first game in '93 against Sheffield Wednesday but had a stinker and GG dropped him for the replay and he never even made the bench.
I can't claim to recall that, but just finished reading his autobiography .

Yeah I certainly do and I really enjoyed this one so much. It should go down as one of our greatest ever FA Cup victories, as we were given no chance by anyone of beating that chav team, never mind absolutely outplaying and outclassing and outfighting them. But the sad truth is a lot of Gooners will never admit that even to themselves because of the ongoing Wenger situation.

Personally I still want him gone, but I have no problem giving credit where it's due, no matter who it's due to... even Ramsey!

It's ironic as the competition which Wenger has persistently treated with utter disdain in the last decade and placed well below the fake trophy of 4th is one which he has still been more successful than anybody else in history and has arguably saved his bacon.
