Welcome Alexandre Lacazette

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I hope he is the man we have been after, looking at the video in the earlier post he seems a lot like Giroude as in a lot of his goals come from in or around the penalty box. Although he clearly has better movement, pace and definitely looks more clinical in front of goal hopefully with better players around him he can improve even more.

76 goals in 97 league appearances over the past 3 seasons. People were skeptical that Ibrahimovic's goal scoring wouldn't stand up in England but that was wrong so high hopes.
Ibrahimovich had also done it in Italy (back when it was a decent league the first time) and Spain mind.

And his goal scoring rate Was actually less than half last season what it was in the previous one at PSG!

He'll score 7 or 8 goals in the first couple of months of the season and then he'll go to shit from November until April before scoring 4 or 5 in the usual dead end of season games. We'll hear the usual nonsense from Wanker about how it takes time to settle into English football and that next season he'll win player of the year. He won't. He'll be the 2017-18 Chamakh.

Not massively sold on him but "He'll be the 2017-18 Chamakh" is a bit strong. Hopefully he will be able to adapt to the chaos of premier league defending, just hope to god Wenger doesn't put him out on the right (or left) to "learn".

Be interesting to see if at any point he plays alongside Giroud rather than up on his own.

No chance Wenger will play two up front.

Thought he did ok today - didn't have loads of involvement but showed some great touches and was a great move that led to him hitting the post. That instinctive ability to find half a yard in the box to get a shot off is what the likes of Giroud and Walcott lack.

I feel sorry for him, as if he goes a few games without a goal, then Wenger will bench him for Giroud. Yet, Giroud can go a half a season without a league goal, and Wenger still sees him as a crucial player :banghead:

The sad thing is Giroud is crucial, hes never been good enough but after another show of shit from Laca today it makes you realise how important the French lampost is.In typical wenger fashion he buys a 50m pound player just to try and prove that his love child Giroud is a worldy and right now its working
