League Cup Draw

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Remember when we nearly lost to them a few years back and had to rely on a last minute equaliser and penalties to scrape through. Ah Wenger the genius.

Hard to believe that was nearly 12 years ago..it was at Doncaster's old stadium ..I remember there were houses behind the end the penalties were taken and the residents kept turning on and off the lights when Arsenal were taking their kicks to put them off..

Yeah, a fucking freezing miserable night. I doesn't seem that long ago because the utter shitness under Wanker just merges into one.

I've always had a soft spot for the league cup as '93 was my first cup final in person.

Historically we've lost to more substandard shite in finals than anyone
Swindon(only trophy) Luton(only trophy) Brum in this thing :(
Cardiff(only ever trophy)..Ipswich..West Ham..in the cup cup
Fuck we've even been browned by Zaragoza (only Euro trophy) and Galafuckingtasaray(only Euro trophy) on the continent :(
Forgive if I've missed any but that's a shite list of total shite

Close but no Ian Ure, David Court and Bobby Gould.... :-P

Suppose that long aired git who used to go and check his gee gees at the bookies during half time and Ray Kennedy along with Eddie Kelly for his cup goal made the difference...

Nice draw. Shame we'll have to be subjected to all the double-barrelled pubbers in our excuse for a youth team

Losing to Birmingham, Bradford, Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday. No wonder The Old Fraud has never won this cup :censored:

The Arsenal winning this trophy only twice (Under GG, naturally) is not good enough, however derided it is nowadays.

Quite bizarrely I picked up a coin off the floor a couple of years ago in a shop I ran in Southport in Southport and it was one of those collectors footballer coins from 1969 and it was Ian Ure of Manchesster United. Still got it somewhere.

Open to correction here but the only times Leeds won either domestic trophy they beat Arsenal in the Final....also we are the first club to lose a domestic cup final to a team from outside England and the first team to lose a domestic final played outside England..
