Obviously didn't watch the game, but how is it with our starting line up we are only beating a league one side 1-0?

I watch league one every week now (Southend United) and we should be doing much better than that.

Was it a case of scoring early and then just going through the motions?
No. We couldn't finish anything coming into the box. We are lucky Theo even scored that goal. He had another clear chance where he was 1v1 with the keeper and he leathered it...

Someone asked earlier... not sure about actual attendance

Confirmation that 44,064 tickets were sold - the lowest attendance of the Emirates era
Phenomenal crowd
I was one of the 18' 000 at Highbury when we last played Doncaster at home when we beat them 1-0 thanks to rocky

Another crap and tortuous performance, but one step closer to Wembley

The Ear-Cupper had a strong penalty shout in the opening minutes, having being hauled to the deck; he also missed a bicycle kick soon after. We had Doncaster penned in their half for chunks of the first half, in their box too at times, but we did our usual passing it sideways with hardly any shooting or penetration. Giroud headed over the bar.

Thank fuck that Sanchez cut the bullshit and pinged a great ball forwards for Walcott to put away. It was looking like we'd be lucky to score. Thankfully the game opened up a bit after that, with a little more shooting than usual for us, for what proved to be our best twenty minutes of the game by far. Doncaster had a few half chances, but we were lucky enough to shut them out. It seemed our lot in Cashburton were giving them sarcastic ole's as they passed it around. Stay classy, guys.

It was shocking that we made another half-time substitution, with poor Chambers being hauled off for the sake of a youth team pubber. It seemed we changed shape too. Walcott wasted a chance on the breakaway. Doncaster then put some pressure on us, keeping the ball in our end and we tried our best to fuck up in defence, with Mertesacker putting Ospina under pressure with a backpass then again we let them though on goal, but we somehow snuffed out the attack.

We finally started to put them under pressure again for the first time in the half, but we were still let down by poor finishing, seemingly unable to land the killer blow. This never usually bodes well for us, as we started fucking backheeling the ball and being flash. After this crap second half performance, I didn't want to waste another half-hour watching this shite.

We survived yet another comical defensive lapse. It seemed we were doing our best to force extra time for Doncaster. We put on our subs ridiculously late as usual, barring the early sub - two of those being youth team pubbers, so clearly The Old Fraud didn't give a fuck if we won or not. Doncaster then hit the crossbar! Fuck sake. Somehow we held on.

It was a fucking awful victory, as only we can do
It was the Doncaster fans that were doing the ole's

Well it wasn't a case of Liam Brady equalising late and needing 5 games to beat a third tier Sheffield Wednesday
That was the team that won the fa cup in 1979

Couldn't care less by the performance or low score line, it's a cup game... objective is to get through, job done.

When I get Evertonians taking the piss over our scoreline, I know it's bad...
As I said to them we're saving our goals for bigger games.
I wouldn't be too unhappy if we emulated Manure from last season and won this cup and the Europa league as we've clearly got a team that can win cups but not a league title.

That's Everton who needed an extra time winner at home to Stevenage in 13/14 5 mins from the end
They finished bottom of league 1 that season
