he kicked his standing foot, you can tlel by the trajectory of the ball it didn't get two touches. my god is this what we've been reduced to? jaysus
Exactly what I was thinking. He slips as he kicks it so any double touch is purely accidental.
The fact we are making so much fuss about it is embarassing.
He didn't kick his standing foot it was like a bump ball in cricket. He was losing his balance and his foot came down on the ball at an awkward angle kicking it into the ground. The ball then bounced up into the roof of the net. The key thing is he didn't touch the ball twice, it just looked very clumsy.

Fair enough giving both penalties and if he hasn’t seen the double touch (despite everyone else nearby seeing it when the ball looped up in a different direction to where he tried to kick it) then he can’t give it.

But there was a delay of 3:56 between the penalty being given and the game kicking off. So with that’s another penalty, 3 goals, a red card, a head injury delay and 5 subs in the second half, he gives 4 minutes injury time????

Should have given Forest more time to score a fifth

On the subject of two touches , I'm sure if you watch Welbeck's goal he actually plays the ball off the 'keeper's hand , otherwise it wasn't going in...
Shameful day in the history of our club...What was Wenger's excuses?

his left foot his his right therefore he couldn't get his foot around the ball imo, anyway the ref would only have made him re-take it and it would have been scored.

I’m not using it as an excuse but there were definitely two touches. His left foot went around the ball so was going right of goal until it hit his sliding foot
I have to agree with you, there is no way he would have hit the centre of the goal, that takes balls!...
Was not a penalty also, but this dire line up deserved all it got!
Zilch
Semi Final Chelsea next! :suicide:

What Wenger cares about more than ANYTHING is getting back into the CL...if he can get back into that..he'll go comfortably & full of swagger into next season...if you don't believe me look at the teams he chooses. He picks his strongest teams for EVERY PL game. He knows he won't win the Europa so his only way back into CL is via 4th. He will keep fielding these weak teams for the cup games and by the end of Feb, beginning of March, he'll be out of everything with the door probably closed on 4th as well.

How is he going to spin that?? The "I'm Arsene Wenger, I don't give up" isn't going to wash then.
It will wash though. Look at the amount of fans who got all excited when we beat teams like Stoke at the tail end of last season. There is a large section of our fan-base, who feel that any win, erases all defeats, and with that sort of mentality, we are truly fucked.

His left foot double touched his right foot but his left foot didn’t make contact with his right foot and also failed triple contact his other foot meaning all 3 feet were at fault!! And according to referees manual “chapter 3 line 7 headlined “troublesome feet “ this was a penalty!!!!!!

Is there anything in the referee manual about the 4th official being able to smack the arm-waving senile c*nt in the mouth when he contests a decision and hes clearly in the wrong.

At least VAR should blow a huge hole in his excuses soon
