Wigan beat the "best team ever"

Nowt wrong whatsoever with what Aguero did. Having hundreds of jumped up fans running around on the pitch after the whistle is a recipe for disaster because like a few of these pricks they can’t resist getting in the face of opposition players.

The FA will still require him to explain his actions as a minimum and think they will have to give him 3 games as that would have been the punishment had he done it to an opposition player and the self-defence argument wouldn’t have washed.

Saw Guardiola’s petulant antics (again) at HT - presumably because Wigan didn’t sit back and let City walk all over them like every team is supposed to?

Agree about the Wigan fans..Hate the "this is what the magic of the Cup is all about" Bollox...
On the big days everyone is a Superfan, but when their club are playing mediocre sides on league Saturdays they are no where to be seen..
Remember three days after winning the Cup Final in 2013 Wigan were relegated at the Emirates and the away section was barely a quarter full.
Not sure what happened with Aguero but if a dickhead is running at him he has a right to defend himself.
Think this was a blip for City.. they had 79% possession , 14 shots on target and 15 corners to Wigan's none. Wigan defended like men possessed and deserved their win but I think that is bad news for Arsenal for Sunday.

Went up there with Southend United in October and there were hardly any Wigan fans there.

As for this "better than the 2013 final win" that is being said in a few papers, I get that they are now league one, but how can you really compare winning the cup to beating a team in the 5th round no matter who they are?

Was there in 2012 at Christmas time, won 1-0 with an Arteta penalty..." we forgot you were here" and "your ground is too big for you " were two of the travelling Gooners' songs..

Delighted they lost.

City aren't driving the narrative to be fair to them but I'm so sick of the "are they the greatest team off all time?" bile that's being regurgitated by every media outlet across the land.

They're going to go the entire season unbeaten, they're going to win the quadruple, they're going to win the grand fuckin' national, are they the best? Isn't Pep the greatest? :banghead:

Fawning and swooning and giggling over them like a bunch of fannys.

Well the unbeaten season went tits up, as has the quadruple after last night and I hope come Sunday evening they'll be sticking talk of a treble up the highest rafter of their hole.

Then hopefully they get dicked by someone in Europe and limp home in the league like a damp squib.

It's common local knowledge that Wigan's crowd get boosted by Manchester united supporters if they're not playing, and Wigan are playing a big team.

The worst result for Arsenal tbh, City will be more up for this game than had they won against Wigan.
Liverpool lost 2-1 at home to Wimbledon a week before losing to us in the 87 league cup final
We had a team with balls in those days, not forgetting the famous back 4 was starting to take shape. What have we got this weekend?
Famous back 4 in '87...Anderson, Sansom, Adams and O'Leary. Two years too early with that one. Liverpool were as good in 86/87, as city are now.

Not a chance - football was different of course back then, but the victims were winning a 1 horse race every season which doesnt make them as good as current citeeh team, and certainly not as good as our Invincibles 8)

Or maybe it had something to do with the erratic, incomprehensible behaviour of the ref. Out with the yellow, then nonchalantly decided, what the hell lets make it red. Can you imagine Wenger if that had happened to one of ours??? Any manager in fact...it wasn't a red, even the big club haters in the studio agreed on that.

And the Wigan manager, he was borderline hysterical, if you didn't know you would have thought they had lost a player.

Tbh I thought City were really good and on any other night would have won by 4 goals, they don't play like us, they are much more inventive (look at their goals for if you don't believe me) and they work much, much harder off the ball....Wigan were completely and totally outplayed and had one shot on target.

But lets hope all their best players and Pep gets banned for the final and then we can do a "Wigan" on a severely weakened team. Wouldn't it be just like the FA to "have a look" at Aguero and ignore the knuckledraggers that ran onto the pitch.

Hopefully another trophy and Wenger gets another contract :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

It's won't make any difference to his tenure mate so you may as well try and enjoy the final.

City are 13 points clear of 2nd place. The epitome of a one horse race.
I wasn't talking about our invincibles but as you raised it we got to semi final of both domestic quarter final of champions league that season, and not mentioned once on SSN when they discuss teams close to completing the quadruple.
