If you go up by train its usually the Terrace Bar, which is about 5 mins walk from the station. Cheap as fuck as a student pub, although i'm sure they up the prices on match days.

Be careful , some of the pubs in Stoke are very welcoming to Arsenal fans

Last year when I went the Police were welcoming us off of the train with a flyer directing us to the local designated away pub.
Handy as it was also near to the shuttle service etc.
