THE FRANKSAV MUSIC THREAD

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Does what says on the Weller tin.
Although his albums usually get better with each listen, you get right into this one from the get-go.
There's a track with a "Cars" bass line, and another like "The Crunge" from "Houses of the Holy."
"One Year" sounds like it could/should of been on "Saturns Pattern," and the stand out track for me,after the first listen,is "Satellite Kid."
Groovy,Funky,Moddy,Souly. :barscarf:

The Jam were my favourite group and I followed them religiously (here's your chance DB!!). I liked a lot of the Style Council stuff but there was some shit wrapped up in it. I saw his solo comeback in B'ham and I liked a lot of his early solo stuff, but for me he gradually got more and more self-indulgent and the music got more boring to listen to. I'll check out the new album, but I think he should have retired 10 years ago.

In 79 (I think, or 80), I got in to watch them do their soundcheck in Cardiff. I felt incredibly excited, but really nervous as well because I thought we'd all be thrown out at any second.

Bought II by the British band Inglorious last week. What an amazing band. The singer Nathan James sounds like Robert Plant, David Coverdale all rolled into one. Classic rock. Awesome.

I Love all kinds of music - if I like it - I Like It - Don't a fuckk about labels/genres etc or what anyone else thinks.

I love (most) Reggae -especially from the 60's & 70's Saw Bob Marley & The Wailers a couple of times and Peter Tosh they were amazing gigs - His album Exodus is the dogs wotsits :dancingbanana:

Went to a Harp Recital 3 weeks ago - 3 Celtic Harp players, but also 2 Classical Harpists - brilliaint night of amazing music & skill.

Went to see The Unthanks - Awesome Vocals.

About the only stuff I don't like is Ganster Rap, Jungle and all that Bitch/Whore Crap, also Boy/Girl bands utter shyte (X -Factor Vomit and not worthy to be called music)

Gilbert & Sullivan makes me want to :puke: Whereas Puccini's Madame Butterfly & La Boheme are Amazing.

Went to see this guy last year and he is feckin' amazing - Maybe I enjoy his music & skills as a guitarist more than most as I alsp play guitar (Nowhere near as well as him)...

One of my fave songs/tracks is Pat Metheny's Are You Going With Me....

It's F.A. Cup Eve,75 degrees,and I am on the cold ones.
Just dug out a bit of vinyl from 1976!
On the Island label,Automatic Man by Automatic Man.
Sort of Funk/Rock with a Hendrix/Parliament chaser.
No wonder my Dad thought I was on the Jazz Woodbines back then, just check out "Interstellar Tracking Devices." Yes,that is the title of one of the tracks from the album, :D :sunshine_happy:

If you're into Pink Floyd or David Gilmour, this is an hour long BBC Documentary on him.
