Guitarist's Thread

Postby DB10GOONER on Tue Aug 16, 2011 2:56 pm

Stemming from other posts in other threads...

Have we any other guitarists on here? I'm sure there are a few. I might start a guitarists thread in the basement (where this will go soon, don't worry) if we have a few.

Personally, I've been playing 29 years. Mostly metal, rock and alot of classical and neo classical. Technically proficient and sound on theory. Am influenced by Rhoads, Hendrix, EVH, Lynch and (just a tad  ) Yngwie.

Own A Gibbo LP, Ibanez RG370DX with FR wammy and a Washburn G2V with Wunderbar wammy. And a couple of acoustics. And a bass guitar. Played in a good few bands over those years too.

Anyone else so inclined?

Oh and no fucking DJ's allowed!!

Seriously I've got a bass guitar, and can only play the bass line of Public Image Limited by PIL so far.... so I'm no Phil Lynott yet, I love the bass player in Squeeze, (John Bentley) The Attractions (Bruce Thomas) anything like that really...

Used to play Bass and sing in a rock band in the 80s, mostly covers, gallagher, whitesnake, free, ac/dc, sabbath, that sort of stuff.
Only have an acoustic now which I rarely play.
Still passionate about music, although my tastes have mellowed a little.

I know you said no dj's allowed but I am a guitarist too. Had a fender strat in cherry sunburst since I've been 14 but mainly use my cheapy electro acoustic.

I'm in the drunken jam along with mates guitarist category! But love it all the same!

Frank taught Smoothie how to strum "It's Raining Men" on Jayson's banjo.

In a-minor. Think it was one of them Chilean ones.
