George A Romero.
Loved his movies.
Apparently lung cancer took him. I reckon they should have been a tad more theatrical and said he'd contracted a mystery flesh eating virus that sent him rabid. After attempting to eat the doctors face he was eventually shot in the head after body shots mysteriously failed to stop him

His 1978 original "Dawn of The Dead" was my favourite of his movies.
