Re: Up with the lark
Real ale Pah , us cockneys were brought up on lager mate !
Stella's a fucking excellent beer for the three P's (pinch, pint n punchup) !
I used to be a lager drinker but due to the shite they served over the years I switched to Cider starting with Bulmers in shamrockshire ,which is Magners over here and then Bow !
I love Ozzie beers though but we dont do them cold enough here in Oz u get a frosted glass and icecold lager which is great !!

Re: Up with the lark
Sorry mate but it's generational ???? . In my days Cockneys drank light and bitter,Lager was something that didn't start to really happen until the breweries realised that they could knock it out cheaper and that it stayed fresh longer in the barrel and that they didn't have so much wastage . They heavily promoted it and the younger generation fell into their trap and paid about 10% more for it.

When I used to drink I was an Ale man. Irish Red Ale mostly.Red Snapper wrote:Hmmm, lager; a bottle of imminent belches.

That warm salty ditch water that some Ingerlish pubs call "Real Ale" though? Terrible stuff.
Re: Up with the lark
Many English real ales are good and tasty however it depends on how they are kept and the cleanliness of the pipes. I have to say as a Norfolk real ale drinker , the Irish pubs around Blackstock road and Finsbury Park especially Greene King ones seem unable to serve a decent pint.

That's a lie-in ffs. I get up at 5:20am every morning. Don't get home until 6pm earliest, 8pm most nights. My commute is only about an hour door to door but it is packed with cuntoids.flash gunner wrote:Up at 6.40 today
