Read the book back in the 80's. They never made a movie out of it but they did make a play and two different TV mini-series apparently. The book is "The Dice Man." the film is ,"The Diceman."

There was an episode of Luther about a serial killer using the dice to decide what to do - remember thinking at the time it was loosely based on the book. Book...For Those I Loved...by Martin Gray. A true story from a Jewish guy who experienced the horrors of WW2 in Warsaw and Treblinka. It's out of print now. I managed to get a copy from a book depository in New York. It should have been a Hollywood blockbuster.
Film...The Quiet Man. John Wayne not being a cowboy. He played an ex boxer raised in the USA by his Irish mother. He returns to his roots in a small Irish town. Brilliant. Made in 1952.
