Problem is only one year left on contactRosie_titters wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 5:47 pmWTF rumours City are prepared to offer £50m
£50m If Coutinho is rated at £90m and Everton are prepared to pay £50m for Gylfi Sigurdsson. Surely Sanchez has to be worth at least £75m
I will be well pissed off if we sell him for a lot less.

Re: The Fake News Summer Transfer Thread
Three key differences which impact on their respective values:
1 - Coutinho signed a five year contract earlier this year. Sanchez's has just a year to run
2- Coutinho is three-and-a-half years younger than Sanchez. Simple economics (law of depreciation), if you assume they will be at the top until 32
3 - Liverpool can at least offer their player Champions' League football this season
So, even though we all agree Sanchez is the better player right now, taking everything into account Coutinho is worth at least £30million more to a prospective buyer

Re: The Fake News Summer Transfer Thread
You missed the most pertinent point, we work under the 'Arsene Wenger School of Economics' rules, we'll probably get £1.50 and a box of tic-tacs for Sanchez whilst Wally gets an improved deal to £150k and Cech ends up on £175kBob Bayliss wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 6:16 pmThree key differences which impact on their respective values:

All this talk & no mention of 'the boy wonder'. Feo must go.

Word on the street is Feo is being groomed to take over as manager when Wenger moves up to the boardroom in #May2025. For "continuation" purposes. The Project is back! The Project will go on! Sieg Heil!

Premier League Clubs are going to vote on reducing the Summer transfer window so it ends before the season actually begins. Clubs would still be able to sell their players to foreign clubs after the deadline... Ivan, Stan and Arsene are on a collective boner at the thoughts of being able to sell players but not buy replacements...., "looook Sanchez (or any decent player) wanted to leave and we couldn't stop him , buuuut it was too late to bring in a replacement as our buying option had expired " ...

Quite a good idea, however if everyone else is still the end of August then it isn't going to work.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 7:49 amPremier League Clubs are going to vote on reducing the Summer transfer window so it ends before the season actually begins. Re: The Fake News Summer Transfer Thread
Wenger is starting to sweat a bit metinks and maybe Gazidis could have handed him enough rope to hang himself !
Wenger was always against the selling of players running down their contracts but Gazidis (with Stans approval) quite rightly sold the players who wouldn't extend much to Wengers chagrin for whatever we could get for them.
Now he's been trumped he has to stand back and let Wenger get on with it and that might explode in Wengers face .
We bought 1 player this summer ,hardly earth shattering but it's clear we have been trying to offload some driftwood before we can accumulate more expensive misfits .
But our outcasts are proving hard to shift because of price and wages ,and so far none have left .
But if Wenger loses Sanchez ,Ox and Ozil for nothing, their replacements (like for like) will cost the best part of 200 million which the club will never sanction and we would still have the deadbeats on the pay role !
