Arsenal Headed goals
Anyone know who has got most headed goals for us ?
With Giroud notching his 100th v Bate, I wondered who has got most headed goals for us.
Smith
Radford
Stapleton
Or Olly G were names that came to mind.

those are some good shouts, radford was the first one to come to mind when thinking of headed goals, smudger was good in the air but whenever i see old highlights from radford it almost always features a headed goal.
Re: Arsenal Headed goals
Stapleton would have scored a good percantage with his head but Giroud with 31 must be close to holding or breaking the recordHenry Norris 1913 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 29, 2017 6:16 pmthose are some good shouts, radford was the first one to come to mind when thinking of headed goals, smudger was good in the air but whenever i see old highlights from radford it almost always features a headed goal.
I TRIED TO GOOGLE IT BUT EVEN GOOGLE THINKS FOOTBALL WAS CREATED BY SKY AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE
Re: Arsenal Headed goals
Don't know who scored most but a few of my favs:
Ray Kennedy to win the league at the shithole
Smudger to get the ball rolling at the bin dippers. Ronnie Whelans puss in the background while the ref consulted the linesman
"The Donkey" winning the Derby
Linighan last minute Cup Final winner
Platt v Manure
Vieria v Scum Cup Semi
Henry v Manure last minute winner
Keith Houchen scored a pretty decent non Arsenal header aswell

Now days talking about two footballers like that would mean something very different, usually involving a cheap hotel room, a cheaper woman, Rohypnol and, if they are stupid enough, an iPhone shooting video!flash gunner wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:30 amUsed to love the near post flick on's by Bould with Adams steaming in at the back
Re: Arsenal Headed goals
At the risk of annoying Flash even further ... George Graham probably has to go down as one of the best headerers of a ball in an Arsenal shirt. Some real crackers in the first double year, the one against Stoke at Villa Park in particular.
And one classic own goal against Ajax of course. I bogught Frank McLintocks 'True Grit' book several months ago after being recommended to by BWK on here ... and in it Frank says says Graham blamed the defence for that goal because they were not marking him

Jim'l fix it in the evening
Sandwiched in between a trip to Highbury taking up my season ticket in the east lower
Courtesy of my grandad( God love him)
Aston villa are the visitors
A great reception for Jimmy rimmer( we used to do that before the sheep were told you must boo exes
It's close to half time when villa get a corner
Mortimer slings it in Jennings punches it hits superman somewhere round tge back if the neck and goes in
We struggle on a pitch resembling the Somme
So much so that a back pass
Sticks in the mud into the path of David price
Goal gaping he takes the respect for rimmer a bit to far and misses with the goal gaping
How's about that then

Re: Arsenal Headed goals
Whilst I agree we used to treat our returning players with respect mostly back in the day, I'd qualify that by adding things have changed and while those old players had mostly been sold on by Arsenal and had (mostly) not wanted to to be sold, most of today's modern footballers and their agents agitate and demand to leave. Huge difference between the two. Some cúnts deserve all the abuse they get.beck wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2017 12:03 amMulti coloured swap shop in the morningTheoperator wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:53 pmThereve been a few cracking own goals too
