This narrative of 'poor Arsene' is created by those who can't accept, he is finished as a manager. Instead, they want to apportion blame to Kroenke, Gazidis, oil money, anything but the man himself. The laughable thing is, the amount of AKB'S who scream for Kroenke to go, even though Kroneke has given Wenger more freedom than any manager has been given, in PL history. Wenger controls everything at the club, he even got to decide that he didn't want a DOF, and was still offered a new contract. If a proper owner came in, Wenger would be given one season to win the PL(or make a serious challenge) or he would be sacked.General wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2017 9:12 pmAnyone care to explain the so called constraints Wenger is working under? £10m per annum salary, circa £100m transfer budgets per season, £200m plus wage bill, no pressure to deliver apart from being able to zip up a long coat properly in front of tv cameras. Sounds like a dream job to me.

Top 4 rivals Watford gifted the 3 points due to some scandalous refereeing.
But where were the heroes of Stamford Bridge I wonder? That famous 0-0 victory isn't looking quite so impressive now is it?

Indeed - and to use horse racing parlance "put into context" by the Chavs losing to pointless, goalless Palace and their own manager bemoaning the fact that they are way off competing for the title this year!

Apparently it’s ‘unbelievable to lose a game like that’
Mr Wenger where have you been for the last 10 years?

So does Watford now count as another top 4 side we have lost to?

Whiles Lacazette has genuine technical ability, I would question his engine and endurance. He simply doesn't graft enough for me and it's worrying that he can't seem to last 90minutes. We've put together a mixture of flawed footballers and downright flawed athletes. We are a sitting duck against any half decent side away from home. Even with players behind the ball we still somehow manage to look wide open.
Well said.
For years we have been the easiest "big" team to play against. Any gaggle of chancers who are out-of-form will always have a chance against us.

Re: watford away thread
This was the litmus test for this grand panel and the outcome was near-inevitable.
Everybody likes to talk in general terms about diving and how we should stamp it out etc, but the FA and pundits alike in practice can't wait to adopt the "any sort of contact at that pace" or "he's entitled to go down if he's been touched" or "soft but not a dive" approach.
It was a blatant dive which got a lot of coverage given that it was a key incident in a televised game. And the FA have condoned it. As long as there's less than 4 feet of daylight between you and the defender then you're safe from this FA panel.

That's what I thought as well. It was a blatant dive akin to Eduardo's excursions against Celtic a few years ago which got him a ban that was subsequently overturned on appeal because of the minimal contact you mention. It was by no means the reason we lost so I'm happy the decision wasn't overturned here but as a point of principle it's nothing more than a fecking copout by the gutless FA.northbank123 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 6:00 pmThis was the litmus test for this grand panel and the outcome was near-inevitable.

Is it correct that Danny Murphy is on that panel that adjudicates on potential diving situations..? Is it also true that Danny Murphy declared it not a dive on MOTD on Saturday ? Didn't see MOTD..If both are true then there surely is a conflict of interest and it has to be wrong that a member of said panel can express an opinion before the panel meets..

Graham Poll said it was a dive, that’s good enough for me!
