There were plenty on here who refused to give Wenger any credit for his recent FA Cup record.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 2:31 pmHorseshit, mate - and you know it. Please point out the plethora of posts on here stating 'Winning the Cup 3 times in 4 years means nothing. It's a second rate competition'.
You won't find many, if any. You will find a lot of posts saying "in the bigger scheme of things, with what we pay our manager and players and the price of tickets, we should be more competitive than just winning the FA Cup, we should be challenging for the PL and the CL", Now that is a bit different than what you claim isn't it?
But no, you AKB sheep don't worry about the facts when blindly defending your lord and master, do you?
The vast majority on here love the FA Cup and respect it a whole lot more than Wenger has done over the last 10 years - never forget both him and Ferguson were the first two managers to put out weakened sides in the competition and thus begin the process of devaluing it.
Any praise was followed by 'but this...but that'....
If Wenger doesn't respect the FA Cup, I guess winning it three times in recent years was just in my imagination......
Re: Nottingham Forest (A) | FA Cup R3 | Sun 7 Jan 16:00 | BT Sport
Wenger only won the cup a few times because of a series of lucky and/or home draws, of course now you will point to beating Chelsea and City last season, yes we can sometimes in one-off games beat the top clubs, but consistently we can't.LaughingGooner wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 3:32 pmThere were plenty on here who refused to give Wenger any credit for his recent FA Cup record.

Also we are not some poor club who won the cup against all odds, we are one of the richest clubs so should be regularly in with a chance. Who did we beat in the previous two finals - Villa and Hull ffs.
Also for all the 'credit' he deserves for his FA cup record what about his League cup record - never won it in 21 years, but that is 2nd rate of course?, funny that because it is the likes of Sutton we had to play in the FA cup..

Walcott, Welbeck, Elneny, Debuchy, Ospina, Mertesacker hardly youth players. Considering that team has got us through to the league cup semi final, and the Europa league, league stage, it was an pathetic, undermotivated performance. But then again, they've won the fa cup 2/3 times in 4 years already.Allgunsblazin wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 11:04 amWhere was the hunger or desire from your nine changes Messr Teflon?

Well, that's how football works. There's up and downs season after season. Enjoy winning each and every trophy that matters, as it doesn't happen every year.Jumpers For Goalposts wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:18 amSo what's your advice to thoroughly pissed off supporters like me? last season when we won it, those same supporters were saying this is a nothing trophy, not big enough trophy for Arsenal to be winning, should be aiming higher. Losing this match won't change a thing because we can still win two other trophies.
Both the manager who picked the players, and the players who didn't perform let the club down. Now there is no excuse to play all the first 11, whoever is left at the club after the January window closes, to play in every game including Europa League.
If there's any consolation after the Wrexham defeat in 1992, we went on a 17 game unbeaten run, turning in some great performances and great goals. But given that 2017 was the worst calender year in the league since 1984, hopefully we can do better than 1985.
Look at the defending for Forest's first goal. Just like weve seen before against West Brom, Man Utd, Liverpool and many others it would shame a pub team. So why do you think that we should just carry on?
Rightly, have a go at the manager for not preparing his team properly and, not coaching them.

But what is said manager continues to fail to prepare/not coach and continues to make the same mistakes year after year?Nos89 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 4:57 pmWell, that's how football works. Wenger has to thank Kieron Gibbs in 2014 for saving his bacon. We made a total pigs ear out of overcoming both Wigan and the mighty Hull. In 2015 a semi final against Reading was hard work, then a dream final against a poor Villa side.sk-gtfo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 4:49 pmWenger only won the cup a few times because of a series of lucky and/or home draws, of course now you will point to beating Chelsea and City last season, yes we can sometimes in one-off games beat the top clubs, but consistently we can't.LaughingGooner wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 3:32 pmThere were plenty on here who refused to give Wenger any credit for his recent FA Cup record.

I will give credit to Wenger for last season it was very special stopping those twats from West London completing their double, but his arrogance knows no bounds as we saw yesterday. I would love to know what research work he did on Forest, I have the feeling he just told his players to go out and play. They should all hang their heads in shame.

Amazing how BT Sport and Martin Keown prophesied a beating from Forest, but they even convinced me that Wenger was playing a Youth side, when in fact you are absolutely correct it was a team with "SELF HARM, and axes to grind" written all over it....Nos89 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2018 4:51 pmWalcott, Welbeck, Elneny, Debuchy, Ospina, Mertesacker hardly youth players. You could protest but it won't change a thing as it is a profitable business. They really don't care up in the boardroom.
There's also no guarantee things will improve after wenger
Re: Nottingham Forest (A) | FA Cup R3 | Sun 7 Jan 16:00 | BT Sport
But we know it won't get better. It has been 13 years+ since we last won the title and in the last few season we have been getting worse and worse.Nos89 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 6:27 pmNo, you just say shit another year of this and then MAYBE things will get better.

The protests won't change a thing simply because we can't get the numbers as most cannot be bothered.
You are right, there is no guarantee things will improve after wenger but that is no reason to keep a failing manager.

How do you know the protests won't work? If you and many others on here had joined in last season, they may have worked. What is the point in moaning about him if you're not going to do anything to change the situation?
Christ sake - he's only a football manager. Thousands of us protesting, in full view of the world's media could not be ignored. Saying "but it won't change a thing" is just an excuse to do nothing.

I've stayed quiet about this having taken a few days to calm down from the throwing away of one of the three cups we can win. Firstly it was great to be surrounded by some old skool fans and not a bunch of latte swilling knobheads. Secondly it was a decent old atmosphere and was good to take my lad to a Championship ground away from the soulless bowls of the Premier League. That's about where the good stuff ended
Fair play to young Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock - thought they both did well and apportion no part of the blame to them whatsoever. Ospina - far better than that helmet headed Chavski prick and would have been long since dead and buried going into the last 20 minutes if it wasn't for him
Shame on the so called senior players. Welbeck shirked everything - where's this fabulous workrate gone that we used to hear about? Lazy, useless c.unt. Needs eight touches to get the ball under control and couldn't fucking take on my old girl's knitting
Wally - laughable really. Seen him against Norwich and Forest and he's looked fucking useless against both. He'll slide down the divisions once we finally get rid of the c.unt and will be playing for Billericay Town by the time he's 30 with all the other has beens and never will be's.
Iwobi - get your hands out of your sleeves you chicken shit c.unt and stop impersonating Mr Twirly himself. Perhaps him and Ramsey have got a competition to see how many runs they can make whilst ending up back in the same place?
The whole defence - pathetic. Ragdolled as usual at the slightest sight of a big old fashioned centre forward. We're lucky we don't play in the Championship every week because a couple of lumps like Brereton or Murphy at Norwich have our little shrinking violets running for cover at every opportunity
Bunch of c.unts - fuck the sodding lot of 'em. Go out of the League Cup and Europa League and the rest of the season can go fuck itself for all I care. 2nd is the same as 17th - couldn't give a flying fuck. Only joy will be seeing the return of the banners and hopefully the odd journo brave enough to get under the skin of the stupid, senile old bastard

Agree with most of that, mate. The only bit I'd question really is the inference that Brereton is a "big old fashioned centre forward" or a "lump". He looks light and indeed the few times our cowardly defenders actually grew a pair and stood up to him he ragdolled like a little bitch.SteveO 35 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 6:57 pmI've stayed quiet about this having taken a few days to calm down from the throwing away of one of the three cups we can win.
