Have to say Emery would be a very decent catch. Three EL s in a row :barscarf: And clearly has the experience.

I just wish they'd get on with it. Will be really :cussing: if they have not done the deed by Friday.

As long as the new guy manages to qualify for the Champions League 19 times in a row without ever winning it ill be happy 8)

Maybe so, but I would also expect him to do it whilst holding onto the principal of keeping shit players on outragous salaries - we do have our values to respect you know
Amen brother....it's all about the values.
As long as those 'values' meant we could also include Special Circumstances.

Sky are reporting that Unai Emery is in London to meet with the club today.

46 and 3 three Europa League Titles, and the triple in France under his belt.

so off to Chelsea perhaps ?

Or maybe he has become aware of the lack of support from anywhere for his appointment ? :rubchin:
Or maybe he is thinking that joining a club in the midst of a shitfest, can potentially kill off his future career ? :rubchin:
I dont believe for one second that it is only now that the transfer budget has been discussed - if it was discussed last week, then why is it only now that he is having this "wobble" ?
[/quote]

Augie I think the wobble has been there for a while else he should have been confirmed by now .
It is very very clear that he will only be 1st team coach with Gazidis in charge overall, and others he/we doesn't know with influence over him doesn't suit well .
Arsenal is a big job and following the Old Fraud will be tough for anyone as the scrutiny will be intense ,if you can't chose your players then why risk your reputation.
If he says no then S.O.S. (snake oil salesman) Gazidis will have a huge amount of fried egg all over his boat race and that short list might just get long again !

Anyone

Honestly, Emery ticks the boxes for the board too:

Young ✔️
Not likely to be a big ego ✔️
Wouldn't demand astronomical transfer fees ✔️

I think it would be an appointment that would suit all parties. You don't win three EL's in a row if you haven't got something about you.

Laughable! Even the bloke who's never managed a game in his life doesn't want the position

At this rate, Gazidis himself will be in charge for the first game next season.

According to Marca, Arteta won't be the new manager.

There could be something in these Emery rumours.

And add - 'DOES have strong Managerial experience'. And I think you have a strong candidate.

I'd be happy with him over Arteta.

the comments about him being a bottler are a bit off.

He won a EL final when one down and looking like more. Got them in at half time and a completely different team came out for the second half and won 3-1

Some bloke called Emery is now coming up on the rails.

Bound to be known as 'Dick'.
