The phrase " World Class " is bandied around far too easily. The Arsenal over the years have had a few top class international players but World Class , perhaps Brady , Henry and Bergkamp . Ball won the world cup but we never really saw the best of him but i can't think of many more that I've seen in my 62 years of watching the Arsenal.

PV4 maybe, but the rest ? I dont think so. As much as I loved TA6, you couldnt put him in the same class as a cannavaro for example. Wrighty never did it at international level.Rvp, sol and petit ?? Do me a favour

RvP was definitely world class from 2011-13. Pretty much single-handedly got us third in 2011-12.

Adams was absolutely world class. Throughout the '90's the only CB that was better than Adams was Baresi. He would've had 100 caps had he not be excluded from the international set up because of the time he spent at her majesty's pleasure. Imagine those two together the perfect CB combination of their era.
Wrighty was international class, not world class. I think you have a world class and a level above it. Because there's world class then there's the Messi, Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos level.

As I said bandied around too easily ! Maradonna , Pele , Cruyff, Fat Ronaldo , Messi and poser Ronaldo fit the bill , your list are very good international players.

Those are legends the likes of which have never graced the English game let alone Arsenal. I can only really think of George Best good enough to be considered amongst that lot.

Notice they are all attacking players, I would say those are world class players who are also entertaining. Sad as it is Ahley Cole was world class, and often kept Ronaldo in his pocket who is also listed as world class. Patrick viera also world class at what he did .

Can you think of many better engine rooms for your side in history that would displace Pat?

World class means different things to different people. But Cole and Vieira would have walked into just about any side on the planet - if that isn’t world class what is? Likewise for 18 months van Persie was astoundingly good.

You’re also setting the bar incredibly high to exclude the likes of Pires, Adams and arguably Fabregas bearing in mind what a consistently class player he was at that age in an average side. He has been an absolute shadow of the player he was for us since he left. Let’s not forget he was desperately coveted for years by the best side on the planet.

utter tripe!! the likes of maradonna, pele, cruyff, fat Ronaldo, messi and poser Ronaldo are/were on another planet but that doesn't mean that every single other player that's gone before wasn't world class.you saying Maldini wasnt world class?? how about Totti??? or Drogba?? modric?matthaus?? plain average??i could stay here all night and name world class players,to say Viera,Pires, fabregas etc aren't/weren't world class is laughable,in your theory the world has seen just 6 world class players ever!!

100% disagree with you there.

Wrighty not doing it internationally is not all his fault when managers preferred other strikers over him.

The players you mentioned there are once in a generation type players, a level even above world class.
