With a straight face some Aussie player has claimed that women’s football is as popular as men’s football because they sold out their games for the World Cup. Err. You reckon an Aussie women’s side playing at a home World Cup wouldn’t sell out all their games. And that is now justification for total parity with the men.

Add to that, these bints are fudging the numbers to say "attendance" equals "tickets sold" while completely ignoring the fact they give over half the tickets to schools and junior teams for free.....

FIFA want the same money for the Women's TV rights. FIFA aren't selling tickets at the same price for men and women. If FIFA want to pay everyone the same, they should take the money paid for the men's world cup by broadcasters and share it with the women.

So FIFA think they have the power here? All the broadcasters need do is offer the sum they're comfortable with and say take it or leave it. The last thing that FIFA, the women's football organisation and the women footballers want, is no fucker broadcasting the games.

The only way the women's game will ever demand more money and the players get higher wages, is if the game is broadcast and gets a following (mind you, that could be counter intuitive ). The power is with the broadcasters here, but I suppose it's possible that they'll wilt under woke demands from FIFA and probably politicians.

Like it or not, the market decides this stuff and there simply isn't yet enough of a demand for women's football.
