How's it going with the new Axe mate?
I just sold one of my old Acoustic's (Takamine) 6 string and have put the money towards this little Beauty:
Taylor 12 Fret, 12 String 352ce
Demo:

No it's a custom shop model from the 90s. It has two channels (clean and diirt) and a separate effects loop for each, but effects don't come as standard! It's pretty old school.
Sounds incredible.

Usually buy my guitars from Thomann in Germany boom six days later it arrives. Decided to be a nice bloke and throw the thousand quid at an Oirish guitar shop for this EVH and I'm still waiting for it to be delivered!

Re: Guitarist's Thread
Thomann in Germany is where I got my T-Rex Soulmate (Acoustic FX Board) from, they also sorted a decent carrying case for it. Always helpful.
I'm the same with my Taylor 12 fret, 12 String.... I actually travelled to Birmingham to the Guitar-Guitar shop, they were doing it the cheapest by some £300, so that easily covered petrol etc. They also gave me a good price / exchange on my old Takamine. Apparently there have been Hold-Up's with Imports all over the UK. Taylor told Guitar-Guitar it was due to a change in Shipping Fee's; something to do with a sudden Big Increase in insurance costs etc, my Taylor should have been here by last Saturday so a 2 Week delay expected. They will set it up and ship it to me asap, I am just looking forward to playing it.
Just out of interest what strings do you tend to use on your (Electric) guitars? I've tried various over the years on my Acoustics , but usually now use Elixir Nanoweb Light 12 - 53, they are quite pricey, but I can usually source a 3 packs for 2 online. The best one's I've used are Lowden's own make / brand (Bronze Light) They are amazing but they are expensive.

Well I got it on a reduction as it was last year's colour! Anderton's were obviously having a clearance out the back!

On all my regular guitars (the ones tuned in E standard) it's Enie Ball Super Slinky 9 - 42.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:10 pmThomann in Germany is where I got my T-Rex Soulmate (Acoustic FX Board) from, they also sorted a decent carrying case for it. Always helpful.

For the ones in drop D tuning, drop C tuning, or E♭ tuning, and the one 7 string I have, it's Ernie Ball super slinky 10 - 46.
After experimenting with loads of brands as a kid I discovered Ernie Ball Super Slinky and have played them ever since. And that's decades my friend!
I love them.
They just feel so smooth and well.... slinky.... on the neck. They are great for extreme string bending and for any guitar with a Floyd or Ibanez Edge whammy.
I literally use no other type of string. When I bought my Kramer Baretta, before I even plugged it in, I ripped off the factory strings and slapped on a set of Super Slinky nines!
