We've put ourselves in the position of this being a must win game not from our festive wobble but throwing 6 points away against Fulham the Scum at home and a piss poor Chelski who couldn't buy a result earlier in the season.

Couple with the farce of the Toon goal and the goal that never was at Villa, that's then a potential 8 points.

We were always going to go through a bad run of games but due to those 3 games, now every game now we need 3 points to stay with the leading pack

If we had won either against West Ham or Fulham ( obviously preferably both) we would be looking at an entirely different prospect going into this match

Add in as you say say the dropped 2 points v the scum - entirely down to Jorginho and an extra point from the Newcastle game would have us somehow being top, despite not playing at all well in most matches

It would have been nice going into this game not needing to win it and because of the dropped points you list we now don't have that luxury.

I agree with both of you 100%.

But also even had we not thrown away points so carelessly against the scum, shammers and cottagers, because we have a manager who is not up to the job of managing one of the biggest clubs in the world and how he has bought more shyte players than good and so wasted much needed funds to buy in January we would eventually have fucked it up just as we did last season. Sorry if that sounds negative & depressing but I see it as being the truth. :?

It’s not negative and depressing mate it’s how you feel, andI think 90% of fans are of a similar mindset

This season, the enthusiasm and feel good factor that we had from our supporters last season, that on occasions carried us to victory, isn’t there….because deep down most can see we have regressed and do not believe this team can do it, whereas last season, some were prepared to dream 💭

Last season we were exciting, attacking, adventurous, dynamic, this season controlled, slow and boring and still making the mistakes that cost us last season , which caused Arteta to change our playing style, in the expectation that possession wins games  :box:

They've been on a good run but haven't been doing anything that really stands out. I think we can get at them but the fact that they aren't under any real pressure to win, means that they'll sit deep, happily take a point if needs be and aim to hit us on the break or from the usual set piece that we concede. The emphasis is on us to get a win but we don't have the intensity, game plan or out and out goalscorer to worry them or City when it matters. Playing against us these days just means you sit deep, soak it up, allow us the ball knowing we probably won't do much with it and then wait for a break or free-kick and head it in. I just don't think we've got the belief or intensity to get much today.

Yep this has draw or narrow away win from a counter all over it.

Predicted 3rd place at the start of the season and still think that is where we finish.

Next season we have to genuinely compete for the PL though, from a fans perspective, KSE won't mind if we dont though as we're back in the CL money, which is all that matters to them.

It will be like the old days again 2006-2016 with a top 4 trophy at stake, everyone whelmed?. 🙄

Usual service to be resumed today. We will come out the blocks fast, creating a few half chances but not scoring anything.

After 25 minutes of pressure they’ll play a diagonal over Zinchenko’s head and score from their first shot on target.

We’ll huff and puff playing sideways passes to increase our possession stats, but not create any clear cut opportunities. They’ll then score a second on the counterattack sometime between the 65th and 75th minute to put the game to bed.

Salah will play today, I think he will start or maybe be on the bench but don't be surprised to see him, he was back running on one of their training pitches a few days ago so he'll be fit for today.

For us, the only way we win is if we score inside 10-12 mins. It's weird, if we score early it seems to settle nerves and we play much better, but if we don't then it's a struggle. I read a report this morning that Jesus is out again with a knee problem........wouldn't be a surprise!!

No doubt LegoHead will continue to worsen his Mistake and go with Havertz.

We don't have a Striker and so we should go with ESR as he actually Attacks the opposition and causes all kinds of trouble with his runs.

I think he'll definitely play Kai Havoc, under the insane impression he might actually do something rather than running around at a snails pace (giving Slugchenko a run for his money).........even after getting rid of Clive we still start games with 10......
