MK GOULD
Heres a copy o an email I got from Mick yesterday, I am sure that he wont mind me posting it here. Well done Mick
Thank you for sponsoring me in the Great North Run last Sunday.
As of today, and hopefully there are still one or two more donations to come in, you have helped raise the sum of £1,530 for Help the Hospices.
The weekend started well enough on Saturday with Arsenal salvaging a point with an equaliser 4 minutes into injury time at Sunderland. But the southern softies among us were concerned that we hadn’t brought gloves and a 13.1 mile jog in driving rain on the Sunday wasn’t enticing….
A pleasant evening meal in our hotel in Stockton (for anyone who knows the area, I’m still unsure how we ended up that far away….) along with a couple of swift Newcastle Brown Ales, and the nerves were settled.
There were originally 13 of us travelling up from the Olney area, but injuries reduced our number to 10 on the day. We woke to bright sunshine and a cloudless sky and that’s the way it stayed for the day. Yes, I even managed to get a little sunburnt – which was ironic given that my running partners were raising money for Cancer Research…. (between us we raised well over £5,000).
