I agree siggi Jonsson was a decent player but hardly ever played due to injuries. My worst have already been named here McGoldrick, Carter, Helder, Selley and Hillier. Helder used to piss me off the most thoughi always liked siggi johnson,, just thought he was unlucky with injuries

I think we have to narrow the criteria slightly. There have been plenty of bad players but some of them are really only very minor players in the club's history. For example, Pal Lyderson was mentioned. He only ever played 21 games for the club.
So, to feature in the all-time list, I think there needs to be another ingredient:
a) Cost a lot of money or arrived with a lot of hype (Lee Chapman, Francis Jeffers);
b) Played lots of games despite his limitations (David Hillier played over 140 games);
c) Markedly inferior to the player he replaced or was meant to replace (Richard Wright); or
d) Cost us a big game (Gus).
I can only think of one player who fits all of these categories. Step forward Jeff Blockley.
Signed with a lot of hype and picked for England on the back of his transfer. Played over 60 times for the club (Ok, not a huge number but felt more at the time!). Kept Frank Mclintock out of the side which in turn led to his departure and the premature break up of the first double side. And his mistake cost us the FA Cup semi final against a lower division club.
Yes, Carter, McGoldrick, Stepanovs etc were all dreadful. But did any of them do as much damage to the club as Blockley?
