The Nostradamus "prophesies are load of bollocks IMO.

His writings were extremely vague. They can be interpretted/mis-interpretted to suit any major event. Past or future.

The guy was an apothecary. Maybe he sampled his own opium-based preparations, and was high as a kite when he wrote his stuff?

How many people knew this excisted? What does our governments know that they are not telling us? If anything drastic happens in 2012, what's the use of having this seed vault if nobody seems to know about it? If it's so highly secured, how is anyone going to get into it so that they can actually use these seeds? Is this now our 21 century "ark" that we got no guarantee will stand what nature has to offer.

I've seen a documentary about this at school(I think) or if not there, definetly on the BBC where they went inside and showed the vault. From what I recall in the documentary, the idea was to preserve as many seeds as possible in order to keep different genetic traits that may die out due to a global change, whether man made (rainforest destruction) or a natural disaster.

Yeah, a few blogs are saying the contamination in Japan is worse than has been admitted by officials, and that the problem is ongoing with a potential to spread more radioactive contamination over a wide area.
