Yes money is a big part of it but I believe that as with almost all the top sportsmen, once you have earned enough millions to be able to live comfortably for the rest of your life - and most of the top class players have (as well as a lot of shit ones!! ) - it becomes about your actual achievements in your chosen profession and the mark you have left on it!!

Initially I had some sympathy for Van Persie and the ambition bit. Waning quickly. It is about money in the end. City and Chelsea pay wages that are unreal. Van Persie wants 10 Million a year. I think he is amazing and by far the best player in the Premier League last season but he was also injured for 3 years and cost us a fortune in wages and treatment.
Sadly football is dying due to the above mentioned clubs and its at teams like ours that we see it the most. We are not alone the very overrated Rooney was off until United decided to pay him 200 Thousand a week so even United are feeling thew force. United have decided to pay players these massive wages and they do not have the comfort of a Billionaire so I will be watching them over the next few seasons to see how they manage. While United took on the financial power of Chelsea from 2005 to now we didnt and introduced a policy that at the moment is costing us 20 Million a year in wages on players that we cant sell.
We have no choice RVP has to go but dont expect anything from this season or the next few.

all the big clubs know that Arsenal will hold out for what they can get now that Kroenke and Gazidis have turned this once great club into a money making feeder club.
therefore once again this will go to the last week of the transfer window with nothing resolved. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either deluded or hasn't been following closely enough about what has been happening.

Wenger should also now be a target for criticism as he and the board are slowly turning Arsenal into a laughing stock.
Surely no one can now be taken in by the PR spin from the club. There is no ambition being shown and the supporters are being taken for mugs.

Milan have promised refunds to disgruntled fans with season tickets following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.

The club made the offer in a statement on Monday after many fans were angered at the departure of the pair, with some even staging a mock funeral outside Milan headquarters.

A lawsuit has been filed arguing that some fans bought season tickets on the assumption that the two players would be at the club.

The club says the offer was made because of "the need for style and love of the club towards its supporters and independent of any legal analysis," adding that "the lawsuit is without any foundation."

Other Milan icons, Alessandro Nesta, Clarence Seedorf, Gennaro Gattuso and Filippo Inzaghi, left the club at the end of last season.
