Everton away match thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If this continues (which it will) then we are going to once more get swept aside in 20 mins by the pl top sides.
Agree with you Sid, we got away with it in the FA Cup Final because we had a better team than Hull, we got away with it against Palace for the same reason and on Saturday Everton were not as good as the pundits on Sky and elsewhere were claiming. I was happy with the second half commitment and the draw, but Chelsea and Man City will be a massive step up and we will not get a chance to come back at them.

Scrapping a 2-2 all from 0-2 down is a great result. We had good spells in the game, they had good spells. Naismith's goal was a foul on Mert and then insult to injury he was clearly offside. Terrible decisions by the ref and linesman. Also, Naismith is quite the fucking diving little turd, isn't he?

Anyway, let's not forget we were away at Everton - no push over for anyone. All 4 goals could be marked down to defensive errors, but in all honesty about 75% of all goals in general could be marked down to a mistake by someone at some point in the build up (obviously excluding 30 yard screamers that no one can stop).

Sanchez doesn't look capable of playing the 1 in a 4-5-1 but as I (and others on here) have said for yonks, there are very few strikers that can play that position effectively. But hey, Arsene, you just keep plugging away at it, huh? Fuck reality, the "project" failed, now we have the "system" for another (at least  ) 3 years!

Tippy tappy!! 4-5-1!! Tippy fucking tappy!! Yay! Yippee!! :suicide:

Monreal is pretty shit tbh but I think it's very churlish of people on here to say he just fired one in blindly for Giroud's goal. He did brilliantly to chase it down out wide and the cross was excellent. Right on the money. Credit where it's due.

Also, cudos to Giroud for the header, great strength and power. There is no denying we look stronger and more direct when he comes on off the bench. He seems to give the whole team a lift. Maybe because he's usually replacing Sanogoals and the lads think "well thank fuck for that!"

We are miles off seriously challenging for the PL. We need a top DM, another 1, maybe 2 CH's and a top top striker. But probably more importantly we need either Arsene to leave or for him to wake the fuck up, drop the tippy tappy 4-5-1 "system" and learn about tactics, flexibility and playing to the players' strengths, rather than wedging them into a system that doesn't suit them, all just to rub his own ego. :|

I know. But you have to have hope. Even when there is none. None whatsoever. :(

Hearing the Ox in the pre game press conference told me all I know.
Was all about us impressing our game on them and then winning !

There is no hope for us, nothing has changed ,the Cup win has just bought Wenger more time in which to do nothing !
