The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not ideal but lets give him a chance before writing him off. Be interesting to see how he fits with Alexis, Ozil, Carzola, and eventually Walcott teeing him up.
If we had signed him a week ago, the response would have been lukewarm, but wait until theres 2 hours to go and it don't seem so bad.
As John Lydon once famously said "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"

Sky Bet are reporting sustained backing for Arsenal to sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, prompting them slash the odds on the Schalke striker joining the Gunners to 1/3

Phew, luckily we've managed to offload one of our plethora of defenders.

For gods sake..why can't we sign a striker that can actually score goals. What's Welbeck's record? 1 in 5, 1 in 6? Right now with time ticking down i'd love us to get Defoe, can you imagine if he could come off the bench when we're struggling to score like in the Leicester game. That's where he'd be a game changer for us and he'd fit our style perfectly

Admittedly I'd have Welbeck over Sanogo any day of the week.

I'm surprised Negredo seems to want out of City too,I think he could do a job for us...
