THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I didn't watch MOTD last night. Was there any criticism of AW from Lineker or the guests? Any taking apart of Wenger's squad, transfers or (lack of) tactics?

I'm not holding my breath...

None mate. Not a word.

Shearer, Gullit and The Boy Line-acre slaughtered our appalling defence, our lack of fight and our predictability BUT none of these failings were put forward as problems created by Le Specialist.

I turned the TV off in disgust at how three great ex-players haven't got either :
A) The understanding
or
B) The bottle

to lay into Wenger cos they must surely realise that he is the problem.

no critism of OGL directly , but said our defending was a shambles and an embarrassment.Arsenal would never win the league unless defense addressed. Nothing we dont already know
I bet they are loving it
only good thing from yesterday was that the Chavs lost.
Wenger is turning us into a laughing stock

In fairness to them, Wenger is such a prick that if any of them say anything, then he will lash out at them in the media. I know Paul Merson is an ex Arsenal player, so it might be different, but look at the abuse he got from Wenger for speaking his mind.

If Wenger stated he didn't come out of the dugout because of the Stoke fans, thats absolutely disgraceful.
I'm new on this forum and will always look for an option to support the team we love and people that are employed within, but i am struggling to do that at the moment nad in the current climate.

We are losing against some piss poor teams and i think it's lucky we haven't been beaten by 5+ goals yet. My concern is that it won't be against Cheslki or Man Shitty, it'll be against someone like Swansea or Burnley.

God forbid we get drawn against Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup 3rd round!

Wenger Quote ( Sunday Mirror )

The Gunners boss left his pitchside seat only twice - once at half time and again at the final whistle - as his team’s desperate record at the Britannia Stadium continued.

And afterward Wenger admitted that the mocking he normally receives from Stoke fans who love to hate him was the reason he never entered his technical zone.

He said sarcastically: “There was one single reason (I stayed on the bench). They love me so much here that I didn’t want them to be given an opportunity to show me that love.”

Afraid I just cant see any glorious exit, just months and months of increased fighting. please please not years of it, though I fear that may well be the case. No one with balls as well as the clout seems to be there to stand up to him and say enoughs enough.

\time for a great deal more banners, agree no swearing but closer to the knuckle on the next production :barscarf:

Yesterday's first half display is certainly deserving of a massive chorus of

ONE ARSENE WENGER......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Hopefully that window licking twat with his personal little banner and the rest of the AKBs loved every second of it

Yesterday Stoke’s fans targeted him again, singing: “Arsene Wenger, he’s scared to stand up.”

Eventually he will be gone - for most self thinking Gooners that day cannot come soon enough - regardless of when he goes There is going to be a VERY painful period of transition - FROM the tippy tappy side to side and backwards then more side to side passing - TO organised, free flowing football that employs all the skills of the individual players who get the opportunity to play in their most suited and /or strongest position - with a defence that knows what it is doing and isn't left to lady luck, a defence who are properly protected by a mid-field that can hold and attack - and can mix it with the thug teams like stoke should they need to - also a forward line that compliments the mid-field with pace, skill, flair and courage.

To have Wenker move upstairs would be a disaster - we need the new manager coming in - to stamp his own authority, style and character on the team and the club, to have Wenker move upstairs would simply be a watered down version of what we are presently having to endure - yet another nightmare.

Wenger won't go mid-season - it will be difficult enough to get him out come May, but with enough voices raised in the ground/s - in the media - to the club in all the available ways - Letters/e-mails/phone calls and of course many more banners we might, just might get him out of OUR Club before even more damage is done - before the present anger, apathy and in-fighting becomes something beyond anyone's control.

WE (Gooners) should ALL be pouring our energy and focus into supporting the team and opposing the teams we play - Wenger is divisive and no longer good for the morale of the fans, club and players - He sees his way as being The Only Way - And yet time and time and time (season after season) he fails to win trophies (The FA Cup was a very , VERY Lucky win - had Gibbs not headed the ball of the line we would have lost) - His main remit is to bring profit into the club - we Gooners are now labelled as customers - Not Fans.

The Arsenal we all used to know and love is GONE..and even when he is gone - it is NOT coming back - But at least we will no longe rhave to endure the embarrassment of his rude, unprofessional, classless behaviour - Jacqui Oatley had him on the ropes and rather than answer her questions Honestly - he got angry, rude and proceeded to lie.

It's no coincidence that she has been removed from covering any Prem Leagur games since...Wenger's PR & Media army went to war on her - The Beeb caved in...and so just as in all the sanitsied interviews and press conferences - no proper questions of note are being put to him.

He is dragging the Arsenal - renowned for being a club that oozes Class - down into the gutter. He is a despot who allows no other voices or opinions to be raised - Even Steve Bould has become a mere dead sounding board who has No Input - he may be trying - But nothing has changed - When Bouldy came in I thought "Great he'll coach, organise and sort the defence" - Sadly the total opposite has happened and I do not think that is because of Bould, but down to one person and one person only Arsene Wenger.

He HAS to go...what other manager in the prem would play Sanogo ahead of Campbell or Podolski? - Not even a manger of those teams in the bottom 6. I took a friend visiting from the states to a game - and was so embarrassed when he said 'who the f*ck is that physically dyslexic Gyraffe?"

WENGER OUT AT ALL COSTS! Before any more Damage is Done to Our Club.

Conflicting suggestions there buddy - you are saying that us Gooners should be pouring all our energy at supporting the team, but at the same time you are suggesting that we should be getting wenker out at all costs and I don't see how those ideas can work hand in hand :? For what it is worth I believe that we should focus every ounce of our energy into driving this cancerous leech out of our club and if the team don't feel the love during that time, then I am comfortable with that 8)
Obviously I didn't explain my thoughts fully, but I think we can still support the team - during the actual games - But before , after and in-between we let CluelessCunt have it with both barrels 0 by all means at our disposal.

It is possible to do both - I don't think all of our players are useless - okay so BFG and Capt Stupid have had pussy ops and need to go - as do one or two others because they are too old - or not up to scratch for a team/club of Arsenal's standing (Arteta - legs gone and Sanogo - simply useless) for example)...But with a different manager who knows how to coach, who knows how to organise, adopt different tactics and plans A,B, C or D or whatever during a game - and who knows what players to bring in, then I think they could all be 'Better'.
