Disgraceful attack on Thomas Vermaelen by Jonathan Liew

Not someone I had previously taken much notice of.

But he has written a condescending and cowardly article in The Daily Telegraph.
He has launched a full frontal journo attack on Thomas Vermalen.
Liew is on Twitter, @jonathanliew and I shall ask him why he has done this.
No violent threats, nothing weird, nothing illegal, no swearing or cyberbullying.
People have been nicked for Twitter abuse.
And on Twitter I represent myself but am listed as a moderator on here, and we have rules and standards ourselves.
I see this as a cowardly attack by a journalist who writing for a broadsheet should show some standards.

Vermaelen was a brave player and dignified skipper.

What an absolute wanker. I wonder what his motivation was for writing this? What is the point and how did it even get published, is this what constitutes sports journalism these days?

Vermaelen has only ever been a model professional on and off the pitch, he is extremely humble and gave his all whenever he played. I'll always have a soft spot for him and I respect him greatly for the way he conducted himself - especially as captain when he wasn't ever played yet never showed a hint of discontent.

I don't have a Twitter account but I have half a mind to open one just castigate this prick. What a pointless fucking "article"; it is so ridiculously pathetic it goes beyond a parody.

A completely unwarranted and unjustifiable attack on Thomas mocking him for being injured, knocking his ability as a player and generally just being disgustingly disrespectful. And for what?

That is not fucking on; good on you Quartz for pulling him up on it - I saw your Tweets - but what is disturbing is the amount of people who have found it humourous and even dubbed it "brilliant"... a bunch of fucking quacks and they should be ashamed to call themselves Arsenal supporters.
