Mesut Ozil
Re: Mesut Ozil - should we sell?
Hindsight is 20/20 but it really is hilarious that this thread was ever created in the first place.
Re: Mesut Ozil - should we sell?
To be fair, Ozil has only started to turn it on consistently this season.
Long may it continue

Re: Mesut Ozil - should we sell?
He's been excellent this season - but Le Tool competing him to Bergkamp?
I'll say just this: look at Dennis' leadership skills, look at his winning mentality, look at the goals he scored against Leverkusen, that hat-trick at Filbert Street, his Newcastle goal, his Holland goal, and how he single-handedly became the most important Arsenal signing of the last 15 years. Make no mistake, Bergkamp paved the way - Ozil is a sublime player but I would never, ever, put him in Bergkamp's class.

any chance of changing the title to the mesut ozil appreciation thread?
Mesut Ozil - The Genius
It's about time the old thread "Should we Sell" was put too bed and completely disappeared and we enjoyed a new one which celebrates Mesut Ozil and the genius of a player he is.
"Should we Sell" is now most definitely as it stands today n this 2015-2016 season disrespectful to this great , great player.
Now fully adjusted to the Premier League , he is truly a World Class Player , an absolute joy to watch and if we do win the title he will be very close to doing the double of PFA and Football Writers Player of the Year.
At the moment he is taking this team to another level that we have not seen for many years and is worth absolutely every penny of the £ 42.5 million we paid for him and in this period where we have won 2 FA Cups.
As long as he stays fit then he will absolutely destroy the Premier League Assist Record this season and if he stays fit and the rest of our squad can reach higher levels too we have a great chance of going all the way to the title.
Let's please celebrate how lucky we are to have him at our Club

How about the old thread is kept alive and the person who started this thread is put to bed.

Just leave it as it is. Because then we'd start changing every thread title according to the way the wind blows.IW8Goalmachine wrote:any chance of changing the title to the mesut ozil appreciation thread?

It's also a myth that he's only become "good" this season, an attempt by people with red faces to cover up their foolishness.
He's been excellent this season. Last season considering he was out injured for 3 months of it, he was decent and only getting better towards the end of it. Scored on his first game back in the FA Cup. Scored in his league start, scored against Tottenham. Didn't score enough goals but he was starting to get key assists on our march to the 3rd Place Trophy
His first season I'll give you, largely hit and miss, after that excellent start.

As George said, you want performing stars not just names.
The guy is performing this season. Hope it continues for the second half of the season.

Yes but I think the original question has be answered so we should evolve with the times instead of sticking to our stubborn ways just like our fearless leader we all love.arseofacrow wrote:Just leave it as it is.
