Just think if we’d beaten either West Ham or Saints. I’d have taken a loss away to Liverpool and then two wins. We’d have an extra 3 points even having lost an extra game. Still troubles me how we blew this title. Unforgiveable.
If you’re being super generous you can even call the WH game just one of those days with the missed pen. But I agree Southampton was unforgivable. Watching back that first goal cockup between Ramsdale and Zinchenko (who was stupidly asking for the ball to be played between two forwards) absolutely shocking.
the fact that we have dropped 4 points to Southampton this season is shocking when you consider they are now adrift at the bottom of the league!
however although we have had missed opportunities in the past month you can also argue that we gained 2 points with Nelson's last minute winner v Bournemouth!

end of the day - City are the best team in the league by far
Zinchenko has probably cost us the League. Poor for goals vs Wham, Saints and Liverpool. He was at fault last night too!

As much as I think Zinchenko has a lot to answer for, and is poor in his position, that goal was 100% Ramsdales fault. Just because he asked for the ball doesn't mean he had to give it to him. That howler had been coming for a while.

Leeds will beat citeh by some cataclysmic fluke (with Allthepies being hailed as a genius) offering us a distant sniff of the sweet vagina that is the PL title, but of course we'll just prematurely and limply blow our load all over a fat Geordie slag with tits around her knees and lose 1-0.

Yep, the pessimism is back just a tad.
Only 1-0?? That my friend is not pessimism, that is extremely hopeful :barscarf: :D :barscarf:

Really if the league was not so shit this year they wouldn't be so high up as their team is somewhat bang average...Joe willock running the midfield for example. (Appreciate same applies to us)

Isak looks a decent player (one we should have signed imo as will only get better unike jesus) and they play to their system well. Greater than the sum of their parts but really we should be beating them.but given our mental issues I only see a magpies win.
A lot of people on here turned their noses up at Issak at the time.

Saliba and Tommy's injuries have cost us, we still scored plenty, should never have played them in the shitty cup.

Xhaka cost us. 2 nil up away he riles the crowd up. Suicidal decision. It really was that much of a turning point.

Tomi was poor before his injury. I've noticed on here that our injured players are always world beaters.......until they come back. Saliba is undoubtedly a huge loss but Tomi and Zinchenko not so much. Everybody was saying how much we missed "Zinny" when he was out but the reality is he has been responsible for a slew of conceded goals.Tomi was dreadful when he came on against Brighton and gave away the 1st goal against City.....

Xhaka is in a league of his own, he started the rot, then airily dismissed the fans rage. Awful person, dreadful player.

Agreed - the myth of Tomiyasu continues throughout his whole injury period. Then he plays the odd game and the memories of the crapness return. The fellas last decent game was when we beat Spurs at home the previous season. His injury has meant nothing - the reality is that Saliba missing has meant everything. Whilst we obsessed over singing another fucking winger (why why why????!!!!!), other areas of the squad remained threadbare...CB being one of them and CM being another. While we still obsess over wingers, the problems in those positions remain. I'd say creating chances and scoring goals (all 81 of them) isn't the problem. 3 less goals than City. Conceding 39 goals- 1 more than the hapless Chavs is the problem! Since Saliba dropped out we've not kept a clean sheet despite playing some utter shit in that time - Palace, Leeds, West Ham and Southampton. We've let in 14 in 7 and it could have been a dozen more just in the Liverpool and City games

Sort it out and do it ahead of next season because if its Partey and Xhaka, Gabriel and Holding....it won't matter if we have 8 wingers or 20 !!!

A different prospect to the Chavs at home that's for sure. The worst performance in the whole of last season barring the 5-0 massacre at City right at the start. A team overwhelmed by the occasion, gripped by fear and haunted by the equally limpdicked performance against the vermin a few days earlier

I've already heard a number of Gooners say the loss of Gabriel will be a massive one, but if they've ever watched him against a physical specimen like Wilson, then they'll soon get over it. Actually think Holding and Kiwior will be better equipped than him anyway

Certainly won't be an atmosphere for the faint hearted. Their fans will be all over us as they know how we wilted last time

Can only hope we stick with Jorginho and leave Partey out and that fate has it that Kiwior stays in and Gabriel out. Why play the same failures that fucked it up last year?

Kiwior and Holding would be balanced. I’d play Tierney too as we need you know… defenders. Jorginho has to play. Partey in his cameo last night was clumsy and wasteful. Trossard has to play again. I’d also swap out Saka for Martinelli. The kid is on vapours.
