Not sure if Giroud actually will start. For me he has to start against City, even if his goalscoring hasn't clicked yet his hold-up play at Stoke was brilliant against two of their biggest, meanest Orcs. We're likely to be under the kosh for large periods of the game against City and will need him to relieve some of the pressure and get Santi involved.

Starting him Tuesday is about weighing up the risks of;
1) Starting him and bringing him off after a poor game at his old club to ensure he's fit for the weekend, damaging his confidence.
2) Not starting him and pissing him off because he's left out against his old club and the second poor team on the bounce.

I'd keep Giroud out of the side - rarely does a player play well against his former club so soon after leaving them. The boy will be in the spotlight even more

I would be quite happy with a draw -with 2 home matches to follow in the CL. This is a very tough game.

I would be quite happy if Giroud was left out of the side for the rest of the season :D
Even if it means seeing more of your mate Chamakh as the alternative ?

Chambo's looking a bit cream crackered at the moment, maybe switch him. Possibly with Theo who should be fresh.

Important to not get beat, as I think at home we should comfortably all 3 of these.

Apparently Szcesesezceny hasn't traveled with the team, so a start in goal for Vito.

Noticed Mannone warming up during second half at the weekend so not surprised. Another chance for Mannone to get a clean sheet!

If Mannone keeps another clean sheet tomorrow then how can Wenger not pick him against Man City.

Thank fcuk we qualify for this competition every year or we'd be missing out on occassions like this!

Is this the glamour tie of the group stage or what? Most of the europe are surely planning on tuning in for this potential classic. Or am I exaggerating and its just a game where a recently founded French club with a plethora of mediocre players ... is playing Montpellier?

Actually to be fair my mood has lightened a bit from the last 2 games but the flames of fury that burned inside me on deadline day havent been extinguished just yet.
