And - how much support did the media give us during the protests last season ?? A couple of journos were really helpful but the vast majority (and most ex players) were worse than useless. They point out Arsenals numerous failings but never link those failings to the Specialist In FailureJumpers For Goalposts wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 7:35 pmWe've all said many many times, Chris that the media are so far up Wenger's backside. Reports today re: Everton and Liverpool are saying that Klopp and Koeman are both under intense pressure and both could be sacked. FFS - every other club has a bad run and their manager comes under scrutiny whereas at Arsenal it is never, ever attributed to Wenger. Not after the 8-2, the 6-0, the 10-2 or any of the other numerous abherations. When will the media grow some balls and challenge him ????????

When the sandwiches and croissants at the pressers stop being of such high quality and quantity I'd imagine....Jumpers For Goalposts wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 7:35 pmWe've all said many many times, Chris that the media are so far up Wenger's backside. It defies belief how they kow-tow to him.

The Interlull - the gift that keeps on giving to Wenger.
If we lose the game after the Interlull then it's the Interlull's fault. If we win it then Wenger is a genius because he managed to win despite the Interlull interruption etc.

no matter how bad things are i always hate the international break with a passion. england at home to slovenia, even worse than watching us at home to brighton early kick-off on a fucking sunday

The only fun part was watching ox trip over and fail every time he touched the ball

And yet England still managed to win. I don't care who the opposition is, it's not easy to score one goal at home in front of such an expectant crowdHenry Norris 1913 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 7:49 pmno matter how bad things are i always hate the international break with a passion. england at home to slovenia, even worse than watching us at home to brighton early kick-off on a fucking sunday

Re: watford away thread
international breaks are killing football - half of the first 3 months of the season are now given over to this snorefest.
things used to be so much better when
1. international matches were just on a Tuesday/Wednesday night
2. there was actually some interest in the matches - now it is as easy for the top teams to qualify as it is for Arsenal to get through the group stages of a European competition
you will then get pundits, players, commentators moaning come December why all the PL matches are bunched up together - i think it is something like 10 games in 40 days

I honestly think an ape could have been put in charge of England and they'd still have qualified for the world cup out of this piss easy group. What a waste of time these games are. How or why anyone drags over to Wembley to watch this shite-fest beats me!
But this bullshit is all part of the pattern now with England. Qualify from an easy group ... get shown up for being shit when the tournament comes round ... followed by debates about too many games and the standard of coaching at youth level ... followed by clubs going halfway round the world to play lucrative freindlies .... followed by the next bang average cunnt like Stones or Sterling being made a multi-millionaire before he's achieved anything whatsoever ...

everything is diluted (eg Europa League) to make the average teams (Arsenal) appear better than they are.
that way you get to con a lot of people into parting with their money to think that they are going to something special (they are not)

There is a lot of hype involved too ... the classic tool used to sell a product that isn't as good as you're claiming it is for an extortionate price. Sky, FIFA and UEFA excel in this .... but only because people fall for their bullshit.
Re: watford away thread
I used to hate the international break with a passion but with my self imposed boycott from Arsenal matches, I don't mind it so much anymore
I've been used to my country playing boring sideways football for many years......didn't think I'd live to see the day when my club were just as fucking dull but there you go
