The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Falcao isnt coming
this!

not in a million years, so long as wenger is at the helm this ship is sinking. but lets just say, for fun, that we DID get falcao....Wenger would play him as a DM or out on the wing.

history repeats and so does groundhog day :banghead:

My guess is a last minute bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Dortmund......French/African.....cheap.....not prolific.....fits all of Wonga's pre-requisites......a kind of SaNoGoals, a couple of years more into his development!!

It's National deja vu day for Arsenal fans everywhere.

After diligently scouring the globe aided by his ever expanding scouting network for three months, Wenger will have concluded that there aren't any players with the requisite quality to improve the team.

He flirted with the idea of bringing in Remy, Balotelli, and even Fabregas but decided they weren't suitable replacements for Sanogo, Giroud, and Arteta.

And anyway, there is not always a direct correlation between spending money and success don't you know?

Plus, we have Diaby still to come back and he'll be like a new signing - also the squad is a year older and will have matured.

Besides, we won the stamina league last season and would've been actual champions had we not lost 1-0, 6-3, 5-1, 6-0, and 3-0 against our main title rivals, don't forget (but anyway those games were just accidents...)

5 games unbeaten
We have already won a trophy this season
We are at the same level as Real Madrid for qualifying 18 years in a row for the CL

Wenger continues to hit his targets - why does he need to strengthen?

Ok I dont necessarily believe all that but it is the counter argument to all the moaning that will take place today.
I am keeping off here for now anyway - seen this day too many times

The thing that always pisses me off is when le cock spouts about the answer isnt always to buy, why does no jounro ask if that means that there is something flawed in his system - surely if he doesnt think the existing players are the core problem, then he has to look elsewhere for the cause ?

Exactly Augie. If he's so convinced that he has the squad to win the league every year yet always sees us limp home 4th then maybe, just maybe it's all down to his own utter incompetence? Just a thought.

Who needs a striker when we have a postman who can deliver the goals for us?
Who needs a DM and a CB when we have Chamber who can multitask?

See. Problem solved. As easy as ABC. 4th place here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Wenger will be very active today , he will be watching all the media outlets to laugh at other managers spending money rather than looking for internal solutions...Stan will be on the phone at 11.01 pm to thank him for not spending the money. long day in chez Wenger.
Or we will be astounded tonight by quality signing(s)
