Keith Edelman meets the Arsenal Supporters Trust (5/6)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Keith Edelman meets the Arsenal Supporters Trust (5/6)

Post by gooner.ed »

usual thread starter... Keith Edelman is absolutely adamant that it is Arsene's choice not to spend on players, and that the money is there if required. Let's hope Arsene feels a bit looser with the purse strings this summer then, eh?

Having finished 21 points off the title last year, having watched the title winners strengthen to the tune of £50m in one day, knowing that we were even 15 points of seconds place, given the obvious floors our current squad plus throw in the interference of the African Nations next season, only a stupid person would think that Arsenal do not need to spend money.

Arsene Wenger is not stupid. We can therefore only make our own conclusions as to why money is not being spent...............

Trevheff mate - you didn't mention the Copa America, which will see Gilberto miss the first few games of 2007/08.

But the season doesn't start for another 6 weeks so I'm not panicking (yet). There will definitely be at least two signings before battle commences - and in usual Wenger fashion they are likely to be astute buys of players we've barely heard of! And the first we'll hear of them will be once they've put pen to paper rather than via some gobshite in the Mirror.

MK I really hope you are right. Wenger is definitely the man for the job and if anyone will get it right he will.
