Eduardo Da Silva about to join Arsenal

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He's better than f'ckin Defoe!
Okay. I get it now!! You DON'T like Defoe.

By the way, the last line would work better without 'f'ckin'. Still very funny though.

Not the big name signing that we need!! but who gives a shit at least we have signed someone!!!!

I don't understand why we haven't signed a 'super class' player in the words of almighty Wenger!!! as it would certainly make me feel better in the buld up to opening day!!

It's like the club have forgotten what it's like to be a fan!! checking sky sports news 100 times a day!!

The only consideration should be what is best for Arsenal footall club. Things are done behind closed doors to avoid the SWP scenario where it is revealed who we are targeting and we get outbid. Everything has to be done on the quiet for the good of the club.

As for signing an unknown player, Arsene Knows

Note how Sunday i.e. yesterday the arse.com state that they only report transfers when they are completed (for Lupoli) but today they state we are set to sign i.e. the transfer is not yet completed

i agree that the arsenal way is to do everything behind closed doors! but with all the recent events you would feel that the club needs to give something back!!
Also the new advertising on the website for the away kit doesn't prove to be very comforting!! not only have they photoshopped Thierry out of the pic! we are only left with little theo on the bench! ( where he is likely to spend the rest of the season) but where's gilberto and Cesc?

Watching the clips on YouTube, he seems very left-footed to me - although he did score a couple with his right foot, he tended to move the ball back on to his left most of the time.

Do you think Wenger might be considering playing him as a left-sided forward in a 4-3-3 formation, along with Adebayor central and Van Persie right? That might be the reason he hasn't (thus far) signed a left winger.

I think Gus is winning so far with that one.

To the tune of the song "Sunshine Superman" by Donovan - the song from the Magners Cider advert - www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G3eoNSqPAk

The original lyrics are:

Sunshine came softly through my a-window today
It'll take time I know it, but in a while
'Cause I made my mind up you're going to be mine

And the Eduardo version:

Sunshine came through the transfer, window today
His name’s Eduardo and he’s, prolific they say
The silverware's ours cos we’ve got Da Silva now

There"s not one Gooner who would have said Da Silva would be our next signing,he wasn"t mention on any Arsenal forum. Arsene keeps up his reputation of signing players we have never heard of. Lets hope he"s a Henry or an Anelka and not a Jeffer"s or a Baptista.

I think the reason he hasn't signed a left winger is that he is confident in the ability of Rosicky, Theo and Freddie. The Boy will get games this season and he will push on. This is the time for everyone to step up and Theo will ne one of those to make his mark.

one thing, since he's coming from the croatian league he's not likely to be phased by the tactics of boltscum and that ilk.
