New Weller Album announced called 66, to mark his 66th birthday

Was more of a Jam fan than style council / his solo work but may give it a look

If you're into a bit of Hardcore Metalcore Thrash Metal the likes, I can highly recomment "Denial of Life" from the US and "Negative Frame" from London. Went to their concerts in Manchester and in Cologne two weeks ago and look forward to watch them again. They will be playing in London again next Monday (New Cross Inn), go there and enjoy the energy.

Nothing to do with their music of course, but nice to know that DoL's guitar player is an Arsenal fan as is NF's lead singer :barscarf:

Jackson Browne mate

Especially his albums:

Late For The Sky

and

The Pretender

Both albums are "Genius"... I mean seriously "Genius".

also two earlier albums: Saturate Before Using and For Everyman.

Try Sunhouse 'Crazy on the Weekend' , long-deleted only album by a band whose songwriter, Gavin Clark, died by suicide years ago, but everyone I have told about it loves it.

Even though I have a very wide musical palette, must admit I had't come across this....

Thanks for doing the You Tube link for this - every song is good, but if you choose a couple just to get an initial feel, try 'Good Day to Die' which has a wonderful melody, and Hard Sun. But there's no real duds anywhere. And btw, the band WAS named from that Chinese restaurant on the album cover.

One TV recommendation is the four part Led Zeppelin doc on Sky Arts. Really good stuff on there, including some close-ups of great songs. I remain in awe of Jimmy Page and walk past his Kensington house on a regular basis still hoping one day he'll be standing outside!!

And, who could believe John Bonham died 44 (yes, 44!!) years ago in September. Tempus fugit.

(OK, so that's just an excuse for another shout-out for 'When The Levee Breaks', never tire of hearing him on that....)

One of the all time great Drum Intro's....

 (Showing my age) I saw Zeppelin twice on their 73 Tour of the UK - They were promoting Zeppelin 4 (Symbols)... Both nights were fuckin' awesome Jimmy Page playing his Gibson with a Violin bow!...in Dazed & Confused

And when they did Stairway To Heaven (It was still relatively new then) The whole place went Absolutely Fuckin' WILD!....I thought the ceiling of the auditorium was gonna fall down...<sigh> Those were the days eh!?
