THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Page 2049. In 2049 he will be celebrating his 100th birthday. As well as a telegram from The Queen, he will receive a new two-year contract.

after we lose to City Wenger wil say " we lacked bit of sharpness today, it is not right to focus on my contract today, what is important is that we focus on the team. I will be working 24 hours a day to prepare the team for West Ham. we can discuss the contract after that match..."

Someone may have suggested this before but how about this for an idea......

I read this morning that a Wenger Out banner was at a New Zealand Fiji game last night, what if......

There is a massive global campaign to have Wenger out banners at as many events around the world e.g. Music concerts, Adele concerts, European games, US sporting events, rugby, etc. Etc etc.

It would only take a couple of sane gooners at each of these events to start a global phenomenon which hopefully results in that idiot getting fired or leaving of own accord due to pressure. Focus should initially be at other kroenke sporting franchises in the US....and hopefully escalate from there across the US Basically it turns into something like that John 3.12 campaign (or whatever it was) people wonder who Wenger is look online blah blah.

Just a thought as my life is ruined whilst le fraud is still at OUR club.

Wilson wrote:Rumours in the papers today that Chelsea and City are watching Sanchez, whilst Man United watching Ozil and Chamberlain. All the while this club is on pause as Wenger is dithering and trying to find the right time to announce he wants to stay (likely next time we win a game). So AS, MO and AOC contracts are being neglected because they cannot be negotiated as they still dont know whats happening with the manager. All the while our ambitious rivals circle our best players, trying to take advantage of the rank incompetence displayed at the club.

This is not a 'well run club'. And quite frankly, there are so many other cliches that need to be put to rest. Others include we 'play good football', as we dont play good football at all. 'Wenger works on a budget', no he doesnt, he has spend hundreds of millions of pounds and has the luxury of 100k a week strikers on the bench (Giroud).

'well run club', 'play good football', 'operating on a budget' - these are things the naysayers tell themselves to assure themselves everything is ok. How many other sets of fans boast about being a 'well run club'. What does it even mean anyways? Its such an ambiguous an abstract term without any definitive meaning. Are Chelsea or Barcelona not 'well run clubs'?

Ill tell you what we are though, we are not a serious club, as we credit ourselves for being a 'well run club' - what other set of fans take pride in such a statement?

Im so over not just the results, but also those who seek to substitute results and trophies by finding 'success' in these empty cliche's
Another to add to the list - we must be the only club whose fans talk about 'net spend' and use it to justify our shitness :banghead: Utterly fucking embarrassing  It's become a safe haven for losers run by the specialist in failure

So instead of extending your network in france, how about you ask the c.unts that are already working there why so many quality players seem to be going elsewhere  How would it make sense to discuss extending the network with a guy who has overseen our systematic failure to recruit quality players in france and mainland Europe in general ? :? Surely the only thing we should be discussing with grimandi is his p45 ? Mind you he was a shit player as well as a shit scout

The ONLY thing The Grimster did in his entire life that was worth half a fuck was nailing Davids at DB10's testimonial. I love that clip of him smashing the ex-scum fucker and then the sly little grin he gave Seamo afterwards... 8)

My thoughts exactly. As soon as I started reading that piece, telling us that Wenger was going to speak to "Head French Scout" Grimandi, about taking advantage of the French talent, I thought, "what the fuck have they been doing for the last few years then ?!!". Did you notice that when it lists the past French successes for us, they are all from years ago.

Still, I suppose Gilles must be the guy who managed to snare Sanogo for us.....what a coup !

Seriously we are the most irrational football club in world football. The drop off from signing the best French talent to now scrapping for left overs is just mindboggling. I don't believe the scouting network is the problem. It gets you nowhere if it is not backed by firm commitment at the top. Kante, Griezman, Marshall would all be here if we were as determined as the clubs they eventually ended up at.
