Peter Hill-Wood taken ill

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Peter Hill-Wood taken ill

Post by Top Londoner »

Not mine but c&p from Pravda.

Everyone at Arsenal Football Club sends their support and best wishes to Chairman Peter Hill-Wood who is recovering after suffering a heart attack, following a bout of pneumonia.

Peter was taken ill at home on Friday and is currently being treated in hospital. He is making a good recovery.

The Club wishes Peter a full and speedy return to health and our thoughts are with him and his family at this time.

Who has the voodoo dolls out then?

Friendly word of warning. No matter how we feel about the board atm, please do not post anything inappropriate. Let's just wish him a good recovery.

Hope he recovers, apparently happened on Friday so the club obviously didn't want to announce it the day before the BSM march. I wonder how our club will be able to function without our chairman though, surely things will fall apart...

If they don't have roast pheasant for lunch in the hospital he's gonna be a right moody bastard

I want to wish him well but I fear he'll interpret it as me taking an interest in his affairs.

We must all remember what the power of prayer can actually achieve.

ps: Is the smoking of big fat cigars allowed in private hospitals???

Maybe the club can send out Christmas cards with him sitting up in his hospital bed with his snout in a bowl of caviar and "Thank you for your interest in my affairs" superimposed on top.

I hope the people treating him have spent more than half a day working in medicine.

I wish him the best in his affairs and I mean that in the most sincere way possible, I would never be facetious concering our PHW, a true man of the people, and voice of the fans.

Cortesy of wiki:
He is the third generation of his family to serve as Chairman of Arsenal, following his father, Denis Hill-Wood (in office 1962–1982), and his grandfather, Samuel Hill-Wood (1929–1936 and 1946–1949). Peter Hill-Wood succeeded his father after the latter's death in 1982.
